Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 506Jul 20, 2012 11:57 am How is everyone going with their builds? Update from us. Our fences are up. Just waiting to get the front sections done. We ended up going through Dunn & Farrugia. They did a pretty good job, although the gaps under some parts of the fence we were not happy with but they came back and fixed it up. Still waiting on our refund of our blinds but have ordered through Wynstan now. Refund suppose to be in our account tomorrow!!! Last time I deal with a small business! Not impressed to say the least. Discovered we had no insulation in the roof from the kitchen to the front of the house... Don't know how they forgot that??? They are coming back Monday to install the rest. Not ideal when it should have been done in the first place, but not much you can do. Had some downlights installed in the eaves at the front of the house last weekend, they look great. Also had some lights installed over the kitchen bench. Waiting for more lights to be installed in a few weeks when the electrician is available. Still waiting on some paint touch ups to be done but besides the insulation no dramas what so ever. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 508Jul 23, 2012 9:25 pm Camkat- place is looking good, ive been doing a few drivebys... If u see someone driving a camry real slow theres no need to call the cops! Pretty sure i saw Cass moving in over the weekend? Our CC was issued today and temp fence went up last week so we should be digging some holes this week Check out our blog below! Yep... we are moved in!!! not unpacked but we are in! Wow, temp fence is up - you are on your way. I hope you have a smooth build. Which street are you in? CamKat - you guys are all sorted, landscaped and fenced. We are in mud LOL, which is fun trying to keep my little one out of it. Once we get some more fencing and concrete we can then lay some turf. I must say that it is dead quiet around here at night. Where we were living there was a 24/7 hum of traffic etc. Builder still has some outstanding items to fix up but they are slowing getting done. Our glass splash back was done on Saturday so thats another item done. My kids are loving exploring and unpacking boxes. My 4 year old has left a trail of destruction of toys that he has not seen in 16 months. Its very cute. I have been opening boxes and looking inside and thinking why did we keep this/that.. and closing them back up lol. Because we have lived for 16 months in a caravan we have lived with the basics... and are quite used to it. We still have things like laundry and pantry fit out to do. I am just doing flat paks, too expensive with a company. Well back to the unpacking Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 511Jul 24, 2012 9:22 pm Cass - were in risus avenue... Ive had a very painful start with a few issues during CDC, im being my patient self and rolling with the punches! Did u know there is a 149 (2) and a 149(5) lol i found out today when i had to pay $133 for it $88 to have it issued inside a day instead of three and then wait for it $19 to fax it to me instead of picking it up... Kinda funny! They should just charge everyone for it and make it part of the process rather than make u chase it! Or if its not needed dont create it! Check out our blog below! Surely it will be seen as an unnecessary process for them? I don't recall seeing it on an official letter from council so I doubt it's going to happen? Also I remember reading on here somewhere that one or two people wanted some fill, we are leveling this week if anyone wants some, please pm me? Happy to work on a mutual arrangement Check out our blog below! The street signs list your street as glenmore park. This stockland estate was originally owned by one person . He held on to the land for over 20yrs & wouldn't sell. When he did finally sell it he actually sold it for a mega amount of money , from memory it was over 100 million. When you drive along Bradley street you will see a small brick house on the left hand side, the owner there will no sell he wants to stay there until he dies. Penrith council told me that the remaining rural land will remain as Mulgoa & the estate housing land will be officially changed to glenmore park some time in the future.
