Actually, it's not so much as case of us changing things (well..it sort of is ) but we're trying to get them to understand everything we want so that it will all (yeah, right..OK, a really large percentage of it..) will be in the contract and hopefully cut down on the number of variations !!
I guess that's what we did pretty much. Once the build started there was only one variation and that was changing the toilet tap to be inside the cistern not out and didn't cost us anything. In fact, the end cost of our house was exactly what it was when we signed off on the contract and selections. We did change a couple of things with tradesmen during the build but even those things would have been only around $500 so we're pretty happy with that.
