Had a chat with SS today and he told that we were 40 days behind schedule when he got the handover. We almost lost another two weeks with change over of SSs. Our frame inspection came back with numerous defects and they are fixing that now. Still has not finished lower level roof. Our schedules and plans for move in to new home are in complete disarray now. Pretty disappointing. I was extremely happy with the Clarendon until we started construction. I was recommending friends to Clarendon. But their build process is to slow Hi went35 we are in the same boat as you post ss changes work has been slowed it has been a slow start from the beginning. ...only one job per week even weather is perfect. ... Did you use private inspector. . New ss has said lots of stuff he is planning for coming weeks just wait and see I am really frustrated with this people to be honest not a great experience. ... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17352Jun 18, 2017 9:56 pm went35 No We have not used a private inspector but Clarendon uses independent inspectors. They will do inspections after each major stages in construction (e.g.; slab, frame etc) How do we find their report like will they frankly tell the mistakes made.... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17354Jun 19, 2017 11:10 am went35 You can see all markings from the inspector on frames where need attention. Ok so have to go in after inspection. .. Thank you went35. .. Where are you building. .we are in Denham court. . Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17356Jun 19, 2017 7:28 pm went35 Yes. I walked through the building after inspection. I am building at Campbelltown Ok not far from us. ..I have to keep checking with ss when the inspection is so that we can have a walk through Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17357Jun 20, 2017 7:23 pm Hi everyone, I'm finally going for colours in 3 weeks! I'm a generally indecisive person, so I'm wondering if they give you time to bring back the various quotes for the various items (aircon, electricals, security, kitchen, etc) to ponder about them before signing or do you have to sign on the day itself? I'm still thinking about doing it with Clarendon or engaging external contractors after handover, so would need some time to think. Has anyone gotten their kitchen quote on the day itself or will it be given later? I'm hoping for the latter! My build blog here Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17358Jun 20, 2017 9:53 pm Buildingourfirstnest Hi everyone, I'm finally going for colours in 3 weeks! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17359Jun 20, 2017 10:03 pm We had our colour selection today and I'd been panicking for weeks as I thought all decisions had to be finalised today. Wish they had told us that it didn't. The externals have to be finalised within 5 days, but the quotes for the kitchen won't be ready for another 2 weeks and the stairs and blinds at least a week. The AC quote was provided on the spot as was the flooring and they told us to get back to them as soon as possible, but didn't give a firm date. We'd like to get quotes from external vendors for ceiling high tiling to the main bathroom (their quote was just over $1900), blinds and the driveway (they quoted $14000). Hope that helps! buildingourfirstnest Hi everyone, I'm finally going for colours in 3 weeks! Thanks Jellytot! That's very hepful. My build blog here the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 3132 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
