Hopefully I don't encounter issues like a lot here have had with my builder. I Hope everyone with issues gets sorted out. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17327Jun 11, 2017 7:58 pm Hi all. I was looking at our slab today. And noticed that at the garage there is two recesses, one is obviously for the garage door and is about 20mm deep. The other is about 200mm deep below the 20mm one, but I can't figure out why, is it for a drain or is the expectation that a concrete with concrete all the way up to that point. Reason being is that of that large one was to get fill then it would bring the level of the driveway to the level of the front porch and effectively bury a layer of tiles. Thoughts? And have a look how the porch slab height is the same as the garage so any tiling on the side of the porch slab would be covered by a driveway. Our SS said they do it that way to allow the concreting of your driveway to go right up to the garage so it's a clean finish rather than it going up only to the slab and looking uneven? Amazing. I got quote from Clarendon ( 3 months ago ), double garage cost $12,500 and thats exclude any problem, council pathways and drop beam etc. The cost is pure driveway only. My land is pretty flat, but dunno why its so costly. Thats why I look around now and wonder how much is the cost. Who do you go with? Do you have their details? Thanks.
