Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17203May 15, 2017 7:12 pm wingzee We might hire private inspector just to be really safe then given this us our first build. Just been quoted $2k for 4 stages: Slab Framing Waterproofing PCI That sounds about right. I would also potentially arrange reinspection for framework if need be should there be serious issues identified just to make sure they have completed the work as agreed... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17204May 15, 2017 7:16 pm Mrs RS Hi guys just found out that HP has left and we getting a new CS hopefully better one this time. . OMG what?!?! Wonder if her b*$&# a&$ got fired or she left...Oh gosh! Hopefully they replace her and don't just stick us with the other one who is still there... Fingers crossed the new one is better but would be heaps for them to get across! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17205May 15, 2017 7:18 pm bk84 Thanks bumblebee! Our SS said he's aiming end of this month still. So far we've noticed sliding door to be replaced and a cornices not being straight.. think painters need to come back as gyprock has been dented in a few areas but I don't think they should take too long to get fixed. Here's hoping we're in within the next month. Despite the massive delay, I can't fault the quality of finishes but I am going to wait until walk through when we can get a proper look and also what our private inspection report states before handover. Hey wingzee 2k for the 4 stages sounds about right. We went through houspect and did the 5 stages ( they give you a small discount for paying the 5 upfront) and highly recommend their company. Very efficient, friendly and quick to respond. There's a document on fair trading that is basically the standards and building tolerances for dummies...I've printed it and have highlighted things to check that I wouldn't have thought of - if you want private message your email address and I can send it through...you'd be surprised what you should check! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17206May 15, 2017 7:31 pm Mrs RS Hi guys just found out that HP has left and we getting a new CS hopefully better one this time. . Really?? Nice of Clarendon yo let us know!!! I hope we get an email from the new one introducing herself (or himself). Otherwise how do we know who to contact? Nice of Clarendon yo let us know!!! I hope we get an email from the new one introducing herself (or himself). Otherwise how do we know who to contact? Doesn't surprise me to be honest...we only found out our SS left because of gossip through a personal friendship... Probably have her phone forwarded to the new person... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17209May 16, 2017 3:00 pm We chose pgh breaking dawn last time and pgh eclipse this time. Both lovely! I'm in Qld and only have Pgh to choose from. Lots more options in NSW Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17210May 16, 2017 6:56 pm Did anyone go with the standard stair case and put floor boards on them after handover? If so did you have to change the nose type of the stairs (i think they call it SN-2 where flush step is flush with underside) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17211May 16, 2017 8:44 pm jellytot Has anyone selected the standard bricks from either Austral or PGH? If so, what did you choose. Pretty outdated selection to choose from! We didn't have the option of either company, just Austral...ours was Whitsunday Orpheus as standard. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17212May 16, 2017 9:57 pm My contract states that Practical completion is within 260 days after commencement and late penalty is $100 a day. Is it reasonable anyone? I'm building a low set home Kiet 25 in QLD. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17213May 17, 2017 7:29 am jellytot Has anyone selected the standard bricks from either Austral or PGH? If so, what did you choose. Pretty outdated selection to choose from! PGH. We went with the Palazzao Sorbetto as that's the only grey-colored bricks that is free (the rest are premium bricks & Australa had a close one which costs $4k to upgrade). Whitsunday Orpheus was a standard brick until recently when they moved that to premium! Was our favourite too. Our build is 4 months over our building contract too. I heard that the builds are super quick in Qld so they are probably confident your build won't go beyond the 260 days Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17215May 17, 2017 8:20 am bk84 tngo My contract states that Practical completion is within 260 days after commencement and late penalty is $100 a day. Our site was cut last November and we only up to the lower roof tile stage. snail pace. Good luck with your walk through! [/quote] Bk84, what was the 3 months hold up? the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6690 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7822 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
