Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17165May 10, 2017 9:56 am vincent2166 Hi, just wondering if anyone has a step down for their wet areas so that the floors between wet areas and the rest of the house sit flush when finished? Usually there is a charge by the builder to achieve this as they have to recess slab part of the wet areas by 45-55mm. I asked for a quote and it came back as $2500, I decided not to. Instead I spend that money to increase the height of all ground floor sliding /stacker doors to 2350mm from 2100mm. ----------------- Eden Brae Cremorne Blog : http://newhouse.gores.com.au Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17166May 10, 2017 10:11 am lani_ vincent2166 Hi all, Wondering if anyone had any custom wardrobes made/designed at colours? How reasonable was the cost there? We did they were outrageous! Not going ahead with them. Dam thanks. Are you going to get yours made after handover? If so, who are you using? Not sure yet. I've had a few quotes and they were about 1/3 of the cost I had quoted from clarendon. Okay thanks for that information. Do you have any special arrangements with Clarendon about how the skirting will be done so it fits with your custom wardrobes? We wanted to go with Ikea Pax for wardrobes but keen to look at what others got to offer as well, also looking to get a custom entertainment unit for the rumpus. Just waiting on Clarendon to update the final consolidated colour selections then should move to construction I'm guessing. I'm hoping things don't get more stressful when that starts. Good to hear that Phoenix. Did you make any changes to kitchen? YHK took close to 3 weeks to revert back to us on the finalised plans and the first draft was hand-drawn! Whereabout are you building by the way? Kitchens do take long because they wait for paperwork from Clarendon containing finalised colour selections before finalising their plan. We're still waiting for our final kitchen plans. Some of the kitchen changes we made: * added butlers pantry with bar fridge space * extended island to 1m depth * water outlet at fridge * moved microwave to a tower We're building at Box Hill (NSW). So they can continue on with the gyprock etc if they need to wait for bricklayers. Which they don't this time but they did on our last Clarendon build.
