Does anyone have a kitchen not facing an external wall?
If so how much did the builder charge to upgrade to glass splashback instead of standard tiles.
As part of there luxury promotion i do get a glass window but as i dont have the kitchen facing an external wall i cant have the glass window. Not sure if i can use that promo to have a glass splashback instead.
Anyone in a similar situation. Thanks
my kitchen is facing my garage so I couldn't get the glass window. Kitchen guys wanted $4800 to do glass splashbacks. I said no way. doing it post handover. I had more glass done on my previous kitchen for $2000 great work. so going back to the same company to do mine.
if you do this remember to ask for a credit back for tile splashback which is standard. you won't get much but it's something. I got like $200 credit.
We upgraded to glass splash back but didn't get credit for the tiles and when asked was told the price we paid was on top of the tiles like paid extra on top of the tiles to have glass. You are very fortunate ajedi2k to get the freebies...
Hi Mrs RS
this is incorrect. Clarendon has the standards included. Kitchen people quote for upgrades. if you look at your kitchens document, last page has section called "notes to builder". this is where Kitchen people are telling clarendon about changes to standards, ex. tiles, bulkhead sizes, layout changes.
you need to push for this though. when I ask for a credit my CSC initially said you won't get much if at all. I said well doesn't matter please talk to your estimators. I am a persistent guy, so kinda worked in my favor. I even deleted my WIP during kitchen appointment. Clarendon gave me few $$ credit initially. wasn't happy, I ask them to justify why so little. got it reviewed again and go $800 extra back.
on another note: During my tender I asked for ceiling height tiling for whole upstairs bathroom as well. they quote $2700 for it. during my tile appointment I asked my tiles consultant, if i didn't have that in my contract how much would they have charged?
they said they would've charged $2230. So straight after my tile appointment, I got in touch with my CSC and told her about it.
no questions asked, she raised a PCV and credit back the difference.
So my point is Ask and you shall received. if it doesn't work ask again!!. [/quote]
Hi ajedi2k we are in construction now so don't think it will work now clarendon at some stage is full of false statements.
Did you delete the whole WIP like not to have it or just the shelves removed. ..coz I did ask them to remove the shelves as doing butlers. ....thanks ajedi2k
