Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Gogo's going to build a house 22Apr 22, 2011 6:28 pm Sorry, Gogo, had to run fix quick dinner for hungry boys!! Unfortunately, land won't be titled until Oct/Nov (is titleling and registering the same thing?) and mine is the last parcel of land to be released by the developer. Guess I am looking at starting to build towards the end of the year. I'm not really complaining much as this gives me lots of time to do my research for the house with help from friends on H1 Wow, you are in a much better position than I; don't even know how to scan pics Will get all that fixed next week when my IT whizz son returns. I have been in Oz for only 4 years; LOVE EVERYTHING here. Unfortunately, DH is committed to his job far away and I travel 2 to 3 times a year to see him. Tough times really but circumstances are such, sigh. Thanks for keeping me on your chat; much appreciated. Mee2 Re: Gogo's going to build a house 23May 11, 2011 10:12 pm OK,
Finally getting somewhere. Land has had final clean up and everything looks ready for registration Spoke with the solicitor today and hopefully will be registered shortly. So time to get the house plans on the way After talking to numerous builders, we have made a decision and come up with a plan that we are all happy with and will be over budget by just a bit We are still waiting on final tender so haven't signed just yet! We have finalised the plan tonight, the only thing I am missing is the indoor/outdoor continuous kitchen, but hey, will still have an outdoor kitchen and it's not like I am going to use it anyway Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 25May 12, 2011 7:31 am man, I would hate to slum it in that gorgeous house...but I guess someone has too, so good luck. It is going to be really hard living there. All that space and gorgeousness. I am not jealous in any way........................... Thanks Kiwi, I'm happy with it, I think it will work well for our family The builder said he thinks it will be the biggest shower in NSW at 4m long On another point, we are hopefully exchanging on our current home tomorrow, these people have been dragging the chain for a month, issues with finance blah blah, sorry I'm over it, if they don't exchange tomorrow our house will be back on the market from the weekend Just what I need... Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 27May 13, 2011 6:18 am it will exchange..I can fell it in my waters. not even my kids rooms are 4 mets wide (they are all 3 mets) ha ha have fun in there....cleaning it! Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 28May 13, 2011 12:33 pm Looks very spacious - lots of storage in the garage too - yes bathrooms are huge!! Good luck with your sale and your build!! For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 31May 13, 2011 5:37 pm kiwi it will exchange..I can fell it in my waters. not even my kids rooms are 4 mets wide (they are all 3 mets) ha ha have fun in there....cleaning it! You felt right Kiwi Yipee, Finally the buyers from hell have paid the full deposit After a 4 week cooling off period, they finally exchanged, I can't believe it! Now it'stime to start packing I know the kids bedrooms are big, that was a must have, our kids currently have 4x3.5 beds so they had to bigger than that, the minimum was 4x4. That way the kids don't have to come out of their rooms and annoy me I told my kids if they wanted an ensuite then they had to clean it, so my daughter sort of agreed, my son said no way , however we are now thinking about putting a slider between his room and the main bathroom, he is trying to negotiate having the door but not having to clean the bathroom, cause it's not an ensuite Thanks everyone for all your comments, now to get the damn thing built Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 32May 13, 2011 7:26 pm Tender in Crap.... No allowance for the 9000l water tank WTF. I even sent them the DCP that stated what the requirements were. So it's not a shock but it is too much But when we add the water tank which will be anywhere from $5-$!0k, i might have to Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 33May 16, 2011 10:00 am gogo, I think you better not put a sliding door, my guess is he won't clean it, he..he.. and it will create chaos between your kids later on when it''s time to clean... I thought you have to submit the watertank together to council ? Ask them to include it... oh, which landscape company you'll use, btw? Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 34May 16, 2011 12:07 pm They did include the watertank it was the way it was written that made us think it wasn't included do that's good! We will have a basic landscape plan done by builder but Hubby will do the majority of landscaping, he built our retaining walls for our last two homes! Still deciding on sliding door!! Re: Gogo's build-new plans page 2! 35May 16, 2011 2:14 pm Wow, good on him!! You'll save heaps !! Do you have to pay extra for the landscape plan from the builder? I think W will charge extra for that, unless we do it ourselves.
