Great bargains too - it is so the best when you can go buying stuff and you can actually see where it's going to go. You might only be a few months away now...once you are at lock up it can go fast if the SS is organised...here's hoping! Re: The Noodle Family Preston - we have WALLS Pg 8!! 162Sep 21, 2011 1:53 pm Congratulation on where you are at! We have redishades up so we didn't have to rush into making decisions. Even now we are in it is hard to agree what should go where but I'm sure it won't be long before I get my trusty sewing machine out and make a start!! NB: It's so annoying trying to take pictures through those mucky windows For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: The Noodle Family Preston - we have WALLS Pg 8!! 165Sep 22, 2011 5:12 pm Thanks everyone! Yes, we had gotten so used to wandering in and out when we felt like it, it's kinda weird peering through the windows trying to see what's been done. Inside carpentry is all finished, doors, handles, door stops, architraves, skirtings, the works. Still haven't touched the eaves, however all the downpipes are on. I have it on good authority that major progress is about to happen. I can't WAIT to see my kitchen!! It's the one thing about this house that has me the most excited!! At least I can go during the day-time and hopefully catch someone there so I can get inside. The suspense would just about kill me otherwise! Still no joinery, however I have been told it is on it's way. The painters have started prep work today - taking all the doors back OFF, and patching/siliconing around all the timber work. It does seem a little bit ridiculous that the carpenters put it all on, just so the painter has to take it all off the next week, but that's the way it's done apparently. Also still waiting on the eaves to be done. We have definitely chosen Solver Whitetone for the walls and doors. A nice neutral background for my mad decorating skills! Definitely time to start getting excited I think. And time to start clearing out the excess furniture etc from our lives here. There is NO way I'm moving one more thing than I absolutely have to! That's the best part! Sounds like your build is progressing well. It's great that you have painters already. The colour is much stronger than I thought it was going to be from even the door size samples, but I'm still in love. I can't wait to see it all put together tomorrow! You can get a hint of the bathroom cupboard colour on the laying down cupboard in the second picture. The kitchen (creamier tone) is Oyster Linea, the bathroom is Amari Oak, which is much browner. And just because I can, here is a very bad shot of our benchtops. They are all standing up near the door, great for viewing, horrible for photos trying to not get any reflections in it! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am so seriously excited now!! This kitchen was the ultimate dream for me (love to cook!) and it's finally a reality! Oh... and forgot to add. The entire interior of the house has had it's first coat of paint. Ceilings, cornice, walls, woodwork etc. So it's really easy to visualise how it's all going to look. And all eaves were finally installed on Friday, so it's all systems go! Cassie 28/7/11 - Slabbed 15/8/11 - Framed 19/9/11 - LOCKED UP! 6/10/11 - Kitchen in! 11/11/11 - It's all OURS! It all looks amazing, and I can't wait to lose the orange tape and the protective cardboard and enjoy it in all it's glory. The dark bamboo floor is going to set it off something special!! For those of a more detail oriented mind.... Benchtop in all 3, New Ash Dust, squareform. Not a glossy finish. Laminate in bathroom/vanity is Amari Oak. Vertical in the bathroom because otherwise it would have had joins in the linen press, and horizontal (and a bit special) in the Ensuite. Kitchen Laminate is Oyster Linea, again all on the horizontal except for the fridge upright, because it was too long. But you don't even notice the difference. Loving my handles, will look especially amazing with my 90cm Stainless steel rangehood canopy and freestanding oven! Re: The Noodle Family Preston - locked out!! KITCHEN Pg 9! 177Oct 10, 2011 2:47 pm Awwww thanks everyone. We think it's kinda gorgeous but it's nice to hear that we have good taste! Tiler is supposed to start this week, but nothing as yet. No tiles delivered, so I'm hoping still for some progress this week. We have still had the stormwater done, and the panel lift door is nearly ready to go in, just waiting for the ceiling in the carport to be finished and painted. Poor painter, has a terrible case of the flu. We are getting our first quote for retaining walls tonight. dreading that one. No matter how much you've set aside in the budget, it's never enough. Oh well. We will wait and see I guess. Need to organise the other quotes for concrete and tanks etc ASAP according to my SS Cassie 28/7/11 - Slabbed 15/8/11 - Framed 19/9/11 - LOCKED UP! 6/10/11 - Kitchen in! 11/11/11 - It's all OURS!
