Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 5818Oct 27, 2014 8:48 am Just popping my head in here - we are building with PD but not a Waldorf or Marriot but I am loving following all your progress on your new homes, it makes me wish we had built a double story!!! Hi TLBL, It's a bit hard for me to tell but it looks like what we had with exposed rebar? Is this on the side of your slab? We've had several sections of exposed rebar. We had to contact our SS and get him to get the concrete guys back. They treated the rust with a solution (to stop the rust from from spreading) then patched it up. Apologies if it isn't on your slab and I am leading you down the garden path!!!! Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 5819Oct 27, 2014 1:18 pm Hi Guys, How have you been? A quick update from my side: I have been informed that fixing stage has been complete last week where as there has been an issue which I picked up on my visit to the property. Since I have opted for double handles for front entry doors, the handles have been way to high to what we told PD, On mentioning my concern, I was told "this is the stand height as per manufacturer" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There have been emails and phone calls to & fro between myself and PD as the last reply was "Unfortunately it can't be changed as it means the whole door has to be replaced" I'm wondering how does that become my problem when specific heights to the handles, TV Points, etc was mentioned to PD already. Since I have received the invoice for fixing stage, I have already mentioned to accounts & PD contact that I'm holding this up until this isn't fixed. From my guess, the lock on the front entry door was installed first which is in middle of the door (without knowing or considering the height of handles) and handles installed thereafter. I wouldn't mind that height if I was gigantor so that I don't have to hang on to the door to open. Thought I should share with the group here. Thanks for this, i have chosen the same door and also the same double handles... I didnt even think to specify how high i want them, i thought it would of been in the middle of the door... I better get onto my BC and SS about this!
