Just a question about tap placement for the bath - I need to decide asap so I can let the builder/plumber know and I kinda forgot about it.
The bath with be an island setting (so set up about the tiles out from all the walls).
I was thinking of putting the taps at the end of the bath, with the spout on the side in the middle of the bath. Do you think this would work?
My other idea was to have the taps and spout all on the far side of the bath on the long side in the middle, but then it might be a bit of a reach to get to the taps, as you would have to reach over the bath which is 700mm wide plus tiling around either side so it could be 900mm wide.
Where are your taps and do you like them in that position, if anyone has pics that would be handy too

Ours are at the end... both in the ensuite, and in the main bathroom...

Bumping this thread up as we are having issues with this decision too, we're having a slide and wall mixer. End of the bath is more practical but we will bump our heads on the slide (I don't think the wall mixer will come out far enough to get in the way). Somewhere along the long side of the bath means leaning over the >800mm tub and I'm a shortie.

our spout is offset, with separate wall taps. We considered the spout centered on the louvers but chose to offset it instead. If the louvers weren't there I probably would have put the spout in the middle.

We have the taps and the spout at the end. At my Mum's old house and at my old rental the spout was in the middle and I always bumped my knees and legs on it. Hated it. If you are in the bath, it's also a bit awkward to add some hot water without it burning the side of your legs.
With the taps mixer, in our case it is hard to reach it from in the bath if you want to add some water..... but that was the point. Littlies can't knock the mixer while playing and get hurt by hot water. I have a toy crocodile and I use it's tail to turn the mixer on and off and control the temperature while I'm in the bath.
I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.

Been doing a search looking for the above answer.
Plumber has been today and putting pipe work etc in for new house.
Tonight I have noticed the mixer is at where our feet will be. I love my bath time every night and always have to top the bath up with hot water. Her in old house it is in the middle along wall and so easy to turn on and add water.
How do you do this when at end of bath?? Learn to use your toes?? Or risk getting up and slipping to turn it on?
Is there any law/rule that says wher it ahs to go??
Hope someone can answer before I have to go and ask plumber can he change it and he tells me by law he can't.
Hope it can be changed......as I do love my bath

WE had it in the middle- I just like the more even "mixing" of hot and cold when adding new water- plus I don't like having the tap in my back when I'm having a co-bath!
