Re: Rangehood 36Mar 06, 2011 1:31 pm chrisandkate I contacted a few retailers and they all confirmed that Schweigan will be changing their mesh filters to Baffle filters later in 2011. Also, with the exception of the stores that didn't sell Whispaire, the others all agreed that Baffle filters provided better extraction. Re: Rangehood 37Mar 07, 2011 12:08 pm I was just sharing what the manufacturer told me. I've been told lots of different things by retailers that never pan out the way the said. I figure straight from the horses mouth is best. Re: Rangehood 38Mar 08, 2011 7:11 pm Dear All, I have a Schweigan and it is impressively effective and quiet. As everyone as mentioned before that's because the motor is outside. The downside of this is that it is noisy outside. I have really bad neighbours who complain about EVERYTHING, and I cook in fear that they will complain about the noise. I do really like it, but you really need to consider the proximity of the motor to your neighbours. It's actually quite loud when I have my windows opened. I have made that comment to the technician, and he shrugged his shoulders and said that that's to make it quiet inside. He also said that he has received complaints about the noise from inner city dwellings. Re: Rangehood 40Mar 10, 2011 9:18 pm short_stuff I have heard the Schweigen + Whispair in operation when installed and they are definitely not noisy outside - I also have one and they have minimal noise - Please double check it is not blowing against anything or blocked by anything otherwise call the supplier to get them to check it out. Should be half to a 1/4 the noise of a split system air con. CC101 It is an entry level hood made in china - hasnt got the best feedback - Would maybe look at your options in this pricepoint in other brands if you want too. 2 4463 |
