Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 991Oct 05, 2011 5:01 pm Gorgeous house Mclaren like a showhome. Love your sofa too! Unfortunately for me white furniture & small children don't work well together! Super Amart have some awesome bargains though, we got our barstools from there for $52ea Your splashback at the end of the bench blends in perfectly now too. I have read through most of the forum but any advice would be greatly appreciated. We will be living 6 hours away from our build and are excited but a little scared too. The pics of your house look great, did you go and look through any other dechellis homes (not displays) or tlak to anyone that had built with them? Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 993Oct 06, 2011 8:14 am Theresa Your furniture looks gorgeous! Where did you buy your buffet and dining suite? Thanks Theresa, we looked just about everywhere but kept coming back to this one in Harvey Norman - it's Mountain Ash - the colours of the wood are so warm and breaks up all the dark brown perfectly. Cats01 Hi McLaren, We are just starting the process with Dechellis to build the McLaren also, but with some modifications. I have read through most of the forum but any advice would be greatly appreciated. We will be living 6 hours away from our build and are excited but a little scared too. The pics of your house look great, did you go and look through any other dechellis homes (not displays) or talk to anyone that had built with them? Hi Cats01, We must have visited just about every display village in Adelaide, even looking at a Scott Salisbury house in Blackwood which was gorgeous but you need $300k before you start We didn't visit any houses that weren't displays although we now know two people nearby who have also built the McLaren. The best advice I can give you is to have constant communication with your SS - we didn't have any until PCI and now we have a lot of things that need fixing. Just ask if there's anything you want to know as you go through the process. It can be a minefield! Check out the thread "Things you forget" - that's a great resource... and Good Luck!! Look forward to following your build.... For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1000Oct 13, 2011 6:16 am kiwi yeah, so much fun when you and the builder are hand in hand (and he fancies ya.....has to be said) it was such a great experience, I would build again but only with him, cos I know how he rolls (and that is not what you are thinking) and he knows how anal I am!! (again, not what you are thinking!!) everyday we chatted about this and that. I am glad you are in though..soooo good and I hope it sorts itsself soon congrats and LOVE the couch. I want to jump on it, is that an issue for you? kiwi - you are so funny and so black (not just being a kiwi) and so funny SunshineT's Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34585 Designs start: 4/12/09 DA: 5/7/11 Demo: 22/12/11 Slab: 24/2/12 Keys: 31/8/12 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110560 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11033 |
