If you open the link to the colourbond colours, the 'traditional' combination is offered (far right) which you might want to play with in the program. Metricon's 'envisage' is a good program to paddle around with, and they have the Dulux and Colourbond colour range. http://www.studiom.com.au/envisage See how it looks with: Gutter: Manor Red (Headland strikes me as being a bit clashy - paint pots would sort that out in a jiff) - although Dulux recommends Volcanic Brick colour in conjunction with Monument - possibly even better (Manor Red is what's offered in Envisage program) Garge: Monument Fascia/Eves: Play with Bogart equivalent/Monument If going red for the gutter, then it would have to be gutter only - and it will need a full paint in preference to touch-ups - you will never look back. So you'll see now you're really ending up with a strong look. It's hard to know fully with just that photo, though - especially when you can't see the roof (and whether it's light or dark). It's easier if you can see the whole facade. If that greeny paint was substituted with Monument, I think you'd see and like the difference straight away. Once again a paint pot story to confirm. Losing the funky flywire frontage and getting a clean square look for the entry (as discussed earlier) in itself will be a radical improvement. Gutter does need to be painted, I've resigned myself to that <g> Gutter: has Volcanic Brick and Monument pieces of paper wrapped around it. Under the eaves are Bogart ( No Facia done as yet ) Window/doors in Monument and downpipes will be also be Monumemt. The Monument looks good with the bricks and the Volcanic Brick for the gutters is less bright than Headland but may they may end up Monument as well. Will try the fascia in both Bogart and Monument and take a photo when done. I'll be back, thanks for the help so far ! cheers, Ray Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 7Mar 27, 2011 11:53 pm Aaaahh.. was wondering how it was going and how it turned out... so progress sounds good! Was almost going to pm you to find out if you'd made up your mind eventually. Flick up some pics sometime. Monument and Bogart on eaves. Window frame Monument. Under eaves Bogart. I think I'll go Roof / Gutter / Down pipes / Eaves / Windows / Doors / Security Door - Monument Under Eaves - Bogart but am still CERTAINLY open to other suggestions. The Volcanic brick is better than the Headland for the gutter but I've seen several houses with the roof and gutter Monument and I quite like it and including the roof ( as was asked for earlier ) Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 9Apr 02, 2011 6:22 pm I like the monument gutter and fascia and bogart for the eaves make sure you come back and show off your handiwork! Yes, interior is the next project. cheers, Ray Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 11Apr 04, 2011 8:59 pm I think you need a break in colour, so to me you should go with the Bogart on both gutters and facia Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 12Apr 04, 2011 9:01 pm Oh…. and Bogart on the door as well. Look forward to seeing the transformation! ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 14Apr 05, 2011 8:07 pm So Michelle, you are suggesting Roof - Monument Gutter / Down pipes / Eaves / Under Eaves - Bogart Windows Frames - Monument Doors / Security Door - Bogart I guess that makes the door frames Monument ? or am I missing something ? Zoe's Mama - the shagpile was originally two-tone ( but it is LESS two tone after some years...) Re: Colour challenged guy would like some suggestions 15Apr 06, 2011 11:22 pm ok - time to confuse the issue If it were me.. 1. I'd go Monument on the lot except for the eaves... but wouldn't go Bogart, but rather towards a lighter/cream tone. Dulux do an interesting paint chart atm you can pick up from the paint shop that pairs colours well - and from memory there is a good blue/cream match. I really like the way Monument makes the orange bricks come to life - they really pop out and become a feature. Tend to think Borgart muddies the colours, flattening the look and making it a bit bland. Would go gloss on the frames/door, though - the paint sample looks matt? 2. If the tone of the eaves match the tones of whatever you are going to end up putting behind that window there - curtain, blind, shutter... then there would be even more balance, maybe... 3. Might be time to shop around for a light that goes with the new look .... donate the amber glass to a good cause (!) 4. Green plants in large terracotta pots would look kinda amazing in front of all that - looks like a cement base area with extensive shade.. gardenias would thrive perhaps.. but lots of choices there - either way the terracotta orange would bring the same impact in contrast to the Monument. 5. And then I'd go silver outside light with a silver feature over the security door screen (which it looks like part of it it already is) - if you aren't going plain. But hey.. they can feel like really big decisions... So.. just my 10c worth.. And yes, it all seems like a huge decision sometines...I'll keep plugging away and it will all happen ! So to sum up: Roof - Monument or do nothing for the moment Gutters/fascia - Monument - (but will check out what Bogart looks like ) then will paint one side of the house that is in little view and decide from there. Under eaves - tentatively Bogart but will look at options. Door Frames / Windows - Monument ( gloss ) I'll get a Monument security door (s ) ,I think doing the front one as well so at least that decision is out of the way. With the door frames / windows monument I can at least get started on that bit. thanks all, I'm nearly there ! No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 9113 Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR.
