This sounds like our story, we were supposed to get our keys mid October 2010, (my birthday is on November 9) but because of the delays, we got the keys on November 23, because we still had to move and then do some stuff around the house before Christmas, I missed out on having a 30th party. It didn’t bother me (I’m not a big fan of have birthday parties for myself) but it did bother my GF, she was shattered she couldn’t have people over. Funny considering my CSL called telling me of the appointment two weeks prior. So then they send another email with another PCI date for the 14th April. Oh and guess what that was cancelled two days prior. Again too late considering we had organised time off work again. And as you can imagine FRUSTRATED!!! And we are still waiting. It has been only in the last two days that they have actually starting working on the house and they have sent the same painters back to fix the mistakes which I am so not happy with, but we believe they are taking the correction tape off the walls and not doing anything to correct. We have taken that many pics and we will not be paying until we are happy. The SS told me during the week that a dulux rep has gone out and has stated that the house been painted 3 times and in some areas has 4 coats which I believe is pile of c***. I have asked for a written report stating this. I find it amazing though that they can paint it three times and you can still see plaster board. Oh and we tape the house up with correction tape and the painters tell the SS after this date that they have only painted it twice and guess what those marks that we marked on the 7th are still there, but yet they say they have done a third coat. Seems like one of us can't count! MMMM and the saga continues. Starting to get very over it and at our wit ends and I bet we have handover on my birthday and I really wanted a to have my party there and now I'm that down and moody about the house I don't even want to celebrate it....gggrrr. I still have a tiny bit of faith left. It's becoming such a drawn out process. Still waiting to move in. Lots has been happening but it's been so time consuming and stress consuming I haven't had the energy to blog anything. Think we have got the paint sorted. They have painted a majority of it and it looks 100 times better then what it was, but still with the painters making two calls backs already they can still not paint the top of the external doors...really how hard is it!!! ourhome This is PATHETIC. I haven't seen such a bad workmanship anytime anywhere. Hopefully they fix it soon for you. All the best. I am sure all will fall in place for you. I admire your level of Patience. Thanks, my patience is wearing very thin, almost to the point of nothing left at all. The workmanship is shocking and everytime I call UE I get the message that their homes are built so wonderful that they won't only meet our expectations they will exceed them....huh...so far from the truth UE!!!! No where near our expectations!!! lot 306 :( THAT IS CRAP!! i feel so sorry for you guys we are just about to start with UE :S but they are delaying us! i tell you what if our house does not look like there desplay houses i wont pay!! Oh our house looks no were near their displays.....when we had our pci, i complained about all the nails you can see in the architraves around the doors and the construction manager says oh thats because they are mdf and that will always happen and it happens in every house, there is nothing we can do to fix them and I say thats funny because the 50+ times I walked through the display I never say any nail marks and he had the nerve to tell me to go back there and look again....I don't need to I think 50 trips is enough to know I house is no were near the standard of the display! Oh I call and email continuosly and I get brushed off and nothing very rarely gets delt with....my only advice is double check and don't take their first answer for anything....if they played in the AFL they would be the leading handballers!!!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build -2 x PCI both cancelled! 93May 07, 2011 5:07 pm Wow its been a stressful couple of weeks. We finally had our PCI on the 21st of April...which was such a delight....lots of reasons why it happended and please stand back 1.5m and at 45 degrees, if you can't see it then it doesn't get fixed....oh guess what I can still see it!!! So after us complaining about the paint job and the very slow rate of things getting done, we got the attention of the construction manager who attends PCI with us. Overall PCI wasn't to bad, lots of paint touch ups need, architraves needed to be made straight, heater vent needed to be moved, lights to be moved, power points not working, scratches and ******* seals and edges on benches to be fixed, 1 drain blocking in ensuite shower, 2 x pipes outside smashed, downpipe need to be made straight, bulk head had scratches from painters and seal issues, door frames beaued, and the biggest issue of all is the water meter tap location. The tap has been placed in our rear side yard, exactly where our retaining walls and fences on top of them need to go!!! Which creates a few issues, no access for Western water to read and will need to change retaining walls some how to compensate for it. We did bring this to our SS attention on the 7th of march but it was handballed to the council and was told it has nothing to do with UE!!! When in fact we discover it has everything to do with UE! From a number of phonecalls to the council, western water, developers and builders, it seems that the developers supply the services to the block, but most of the time especially with a corner block they are unsure of the position of the house and where to locate the tap. Then when it comes time to install the tap or capping whatever it is (getting so confused on tapping and capping) then the plumber calls western water and they advise them of this location. It is then up to the builders and site supervisor to call western water back if the location is not suitable to the house and property and ask if there is another possible location. Another issue is that our tap was not installed at the start of the building process with UE which was at the start of november, but infact on or around the 8th of december when the house had been framed and was getting wrapped. So clearly the plumber and SS would know which way the house is facing and where the tap should be situated. Everyone I have spoken to except the builders explain this is how they are normally done and it's the responsibilty of the builder to notify if doesn't suit. WW are saying there is no note on our file that they have requested a location change. All three people I have spoken to at WW have advised me that there is a pipe at the front of the propherty that can used for the tapping, but guess what the plumber and our SS called and WW tell them that there is no location at the front and that we just have to put up with what we have or pay a pretty penny to get it moved. Oh and WW told them that it is the developers fault! I then call WW back and guess what I speak to the lady who spoke to the SS the day prior and she tells me the same thing, there is a pipe out the front and it's the builder responsibilty to call and ask for a new location. So i ask her did you telll the SS that there is no pipe out the front and that we have to keep it where it is, and if not we have to pay a pretty penny to move it and that it is the developers at fault and guess what...load of crap she said she never said no such thing. She explained she said the exact same thing I am saying to you today. Amazing isn't it! I also emailed my CSL earlier in the week saying I have spoken to this man named ???? at WW and his contact number is .... please speak to him in reagrds to this matter. So they call and speak to someone else, I ask did you ask to speak to ???? and they say no. I ask why not I made a contact who was dealing with the matter and then you speak to someone else who gives another story....oh that right you made her story up to suit you! So then to top our week off, I go to the house and I see a lady waiting out the front and I ask what are you doing here and she says I am here to inspect the house and sign off so we can provided you with your final payment cheque. Then she informs me she confirmed with our SS the day prior to meet her there to let her in and guess who doesn't show up and forgets about the appointment! So then I try to organise the lady to come back out on Thursday and I speak to the builders and they ensure me that the SS will open the house for her, oh and guess who doesn't open the house, and then proceeds to ask when will we have the final payment ready???? I felt like saying when will you have the hosue ready???? I then call and complain that the house was not left open and the SS tells them that he sent me a text message explaining that he spoke to the lady and confirmed an appointment for friday with her....but I never got a text message!!! I then get a text message saying he is hoping to sign the house off on Monday, handover Tuesday and appliances Wednesday this coming week, which surprises me because all that has been done since PCI is, pipes outside fixed, heater vent moved but hole in roof still from first heater vent....mmm and thats it! We then had two working days left until monday. Went to the house on friday and all they had done was plaster the hole in the roof and re plaster the bulk head. I don't understand how they can work so slow.....my god hurry up I am 30 on Friday and I want to be in my house!!!! Sorry for long blog but feels good to vent and I really hope my next post is a happy one! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build -2 x PCI both cancelled! 94May 09, 2011 10:30 am Geez I hope it's a happy one too - it's about time you had one of those.
