Ran an HDMI cable up the wall throught the roof space in down into the living room area, and into the back of my TV (hung on the wall). Which is great, except now I can't change the blooming channel / control the BR player without getting up and walking into the cinema room. Doh!! I thought I had thought of everything. Anyone recomend the best way of doing this? Point Cook, Victoria - Being hounded by the fascists!! Anyone recomend the best way of doing this? I think... that you could use an AV sender like Cocoon from **** Smith. It relays IR remote control as well as AV (it doesn't do HD, so you have done the right thing). Perhaps someone can confirm. You can get one that is compatible with Foxtel (few are) for $299: http://www.selbyacoustics.com.au/storef ... =245078924 You do, however, need a cable run between the rooms (for extending the length of the IR Receiver's cable - you have to cut the Receiver's cable and extend it by joining in the Cat5E or whatever you run)) - I usually use Cat5E because it's common and has some inherent strengths. I looked at that mate! What about this --> http://www.nexgensmarthome.com.au/produ ... -extender/ ??? Looks like it will work for less, and no extra wires. Besides, wired is always more reliable than wireless... Re: Using the Remote in another room 6Aug 26, 2010 4:17 pm Spoke to the guy at the Vic store, it is compatible with both Foxtel and IQ, but not with Austar! Purchased one this monring, along with an extra transmitter and a 3 way extension. I will update with a review in due course. Point Cook, Victoria - Being hounded by the fascists!! Re: Using the Remote in another room 7Oct 14, 2010 12:32 pm Just thought I'd give a quick review on the X ray remote! Been using it jsut over a month now, and after some teething problems (involving getting a full days worth of charge into the transmitter), it is working brilliantly! I've got it sitting at the back of my room 'blasting' the signal from there to my foxtel IQ2 box, and my pioneer BR player, I decided against using the 3 way extension. Both are working perfectly, and are well worth the money spent (cheaper than the wired versions mentioned above). All in all - If you have this problem I would recommend buying this! Re: Using the Remote in another room 9Oct 14, 2010 4:22 pm I think a solution for other people who are still in the concept stage of setups like this could contemplate using a Playstation 3 as thier BluRay player, and i they want a PVR as well add on a PlayTV as the Playstation 3 remote uses bluetooth and doesn't need line of sight to work and can work from a different room. But that doesn't solve the Foxtel remote issue, but it is something for people to consider if they are doing it (or intending to hide thier gear away from the TV) If I was to win Lotto, I would build with a different builder, now to win lotto Broker here - legislation says that every true broker must put the clients best interests before theirs so in theory they must offer you the best options for you on their… 2 46003 0 2012 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
