Browse Forums Building A New House Em&Jamies BAROLLO Finally some UPDATES and lots of pics!! 21Nov 09, 2010 8:36 pm Hey guys, omg sorry its been so long since I have updated. I got a new job and so after being on a computer all day it was the last thing I wanted to do when I came home haha So at the latest update we had our framing done but there was issues with bricks (omg what issues we have had!!) They were delayed by nearly a month so everything had to wait due to the retaining wall being partially formed by the bricks. Well when they finally arrived we began to see some steady progress. The majority of the time we came when it was dark, after work, to see the progress but the day we came and took these photos we wished we'd come earlier in brighter times because we were devestated...the bricks looked great from afar my word...but up close was another story Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Heres an example How nice ohhhh Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ WTF!!!!! Its like someone has shot it with a BB Gun filled with orange paint. As all the brick issues were going on the inside was progressing quite well. However our brick issue still continues. We had hoped a clean had improved the situation and although it makes the mortar look amazing...the bricks and the orange chips stand out even more so!! Home looks fabulous, I really do love your entrance!! I understand your concerns about the bricks, we never realised the kind of brick we had chosen, the painted over kind To be honest we just don't even notice the chips, I guess we were never all that concerned about it, just accepted it. I hope you get some sort of resolution for it Well it looks like your on the home stretch now, hopefully Jamie and yourself will be in your home enjoying it in no time Re: Em&Jamies BAROLLO Finally some UPDATES and lots of pics! 23Nov 10, 2010 8:20 pm Welcome back Em, Your house is looking great, really nice colour selection and I wouldnt be too worried about your bricks, a little colour variation here and there looks fine, we researched that range of bricks before selecting Aubergine and discovered the whole alfresco range does chip badly but I quite like some of the variation in colour. I think we are at about the same stage with the ceilings just had the first spray of paint. Our cabinetry got put in about 2 weeks ago and the stone benches in today. Fingers crossed for us all as we are also asking the same questions about Xmas but the supervisor just sais we should be pretty close to the start of December. Considering they told us cup weekend originally and our current house is settling the week before xmas we better be able to get in. Building at Sierra Estate. Re: Em&Jamies BAROLLO Finally some UPDATES and lots of pics! 25Nov 13, 2010 1:58 pm Hi Em, We are at the same stages almost with our house and I am really hoping that we get in by Chrissy too although it is not looking likely. You house is looking gorgeous, had a bit of a drive past the other day and I really like your facade and the colour bricks you have chosen. Hope the nawKaw stuff works for you. Re: Em&Jamies BAROLLO Finally some UPDATES and lots of pics! 26Jan 15, 2011 4:41 pm Hi Em We are about to start building in Western Vic with the PGH Espresso but I'm having a meltdown over all these stories about the orange chips showing up. Did they fix it for you? 5 in every 10, OMG!! I love the brick but I'm so nervous right now. Arrrrgg! Any help would be much appreciated. We will be using the same bricks we have seen a few display homes that have the chips and we think it adds character LOL and to be honest cant justify the 8K upgrade to go with a solid colour. Can I ask what colour you used on your gutter fascia and windows?
