Interesting that the impatient foot stompers all have the same post count. Hi Joles, You do raise a good point. Cheers, Jason Jason, on that point just quickly, I have recently booked a block of land and waiting for its title. So, I came to HomeOne forum through google to get more info. And, honestly, I was reading threads before I came across this promotion. I really appreciate your work here and must say that it is so so helpful for everyone building or renovating their old or first home. Keep up the good work. We have a third and final odd batch to be mailed tomorrow so you should see your tickets by Friday at the very latest. If by Friday you have not received your tickets for some reason, please visit http://www.melbournehomeshow.com.au/ and use promotional code, homeone, to take advantage of the half price ticket offer. Enjoy the show. Thanks for the tickets, Jason. regards Alan Re: Herald Sun Home Show & Garden Expo 2010 - Free Double Pa 40Aug 22, 2010 7:15 pm As one of the (quiet, non-foot-stomping) newbies who received the free tickets, I just wanted to off a public thanks for such a generous offer. I found it to be a valuable saving - I was going to attend anyway, but I didn't find any great deals that specifically interested me when I visited the expo today, so I'm stoked I saved $18 for my wife and I to attend. Actually, since there were two tickets, I technically saved $36 but since I was going to do the 2-for-1, I guess it was $18? $36? Whatever - your free ticket offer was really appreciated. homeone As you're aware, for many years we have happily extended our ticket offer to every member, both new and established. Due to increased demand year on year we will be considering making this promotion available to only established and active members as a token of appreciation for their valued time and numerous contributions at the forum. I do feel a bit guilty that there were long-time members of this forum that missed out and I (newbie) received them. However, it's also worth noting that I had never heard of this website before I saw the "free tickets" offer on another website and now have spent quite a lot of time exploring homeone and suspect it's going to be a site I revisit often. If the intent of the offer was to increase awareness of homeone then it has certainly achieved the goal. For what it's worth, an alternative suggestion about ticket distribution. I don't know how many tickets you get for your giveaway, but could you perhaps separate them into two pools? One larger pool of tickets is available for established members, and a smaller pool of tickets is available for new members. I don't think the smaller pool be too small (eg: 4 tickets total) because there could be a perception of baiting newbies without them having any hope of receiving the offer and that might lead to brand damage / negative vibes for homeone. However, I think there are benefits for homeone brand awareness if the tickets are offered to newbies as well. I, as previously stated, was completely oblivious to the existence of this website + community so I think removing the offer of free tickets for newbies won't assist in building membership. Of course, all of this is based on the assumption that a bunch of new sign-ups converts into a group of active members in the community. Only you will know whether that turns out to be the case based on the number of times newbies who signed up within the past month sign in during the next 6 months (although I don't necessarily log in to view the site so it might appear I am also a poor "return on investment" with regards to active membership). Anyway, food for thought. I'm off to read some more articles.... Hi , I'm currently going through this now within the Whitehorse council which has a similar set of restrictions.
