And it's good because there are a few things I want to change, just very minor things though. Just uploading some pics now to post on here. Thanks for reading! Re: The Journey Home - Colours + PICS! 8Jul 03, 2010 3:12 pm Wow you have been busy typing that all out. Your colours look really nice. It is so hard to get things right but just go with your gut instinct and you can't go far wrong. As for the window colour, if the white looks better with the surfmist then that is the way to go. Did you consider going with monument for the windows or is that not the look you are wanting. That way you could leave the infills as is. Just a thought. I will follow with interest. Everything looks lovely... LOVE your feature tile for the bathrooms. That could be the colour palette for our internal selections ~ warm grey with some browns... I do like that Columbia plan ~ there's a lovely width to that house, nice! All the best lea, looking forward to watching your build! ~ cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: The Journey Home - Colours + PICS! 11Jul 04, 2010 12:50 am Congrats Lealicious! The Columbia is a very nice floor plan. Love your colours too. Definitely agree with having surfmist infill panels, it will give the house a lighter look. Have you considered having your rangehood flued to the outside instead of directly into the roof space? We forgot about this and couldn't put it in the contract. Re: The Journey Home - Colours + PICS! 12Jul 04, 2010 1:39 pm Thanks so much guys Kay: We did consider dark windows, but decided to go with light windows so it lightens the house since we're having a dark roof with darkish bricks. Thanks for your suggestion though brb_654: Thanks! We were going for a neutral look, especially in the bathrooms. I like browns and creamy (not yellowy) colours, and I think we done ok. I just hope it looks good when it's done! vanilla tree: The feature tile is the first tile I chose! I knew straight away that I wanted that tile no matter what. I think it'll go with the benchtop/cupboard theme we chose - we wanted to keep the colour scheme consistent throughout the house. The floor tile is the tile that took me ages to decide on. flagstaffIV: Thanks so much for your feedback. Yeah we decided to go with surfmist. If it doesn't look good in the end, it's much easier to paint over a lighter colour than a darker one. I didn't think about the rangehood - I will definitely bring this up on the weekend when we get our contracts (finally!) Thanks again Re: The Journey Home - Colours + PICS! 13Jul 08, 2010 12:35 pm Ok, made a few changes All Surfmist to be replaced by Paperbark; and windows to be Merino. I was afraid the white would be too white, especially with the windows, so decided to change at the last minute. When leaving the colour showroom last night, I played a little prank on my BF as said, "WAIT! Maybe we should stick with Surfmist" His expression was a classic. I quickly told him I was only joking and we had some pizza. I promised him I wouldn't change my mind anymore. Contracts tomorrow! (I hope) It's good to have all the colours sorted and be happy with them. That's why we change our minds. We know when it is right. These guys are so easily spooked aren't they. Mine just rolls his eyes and gets that sick (not again) look. Haha We too are supposed to have our contract tomorrow but our sales lady is out of office till Sat so who knows when? I think my BF is just fed up with it all and just wants it to get started. I'm really hoping they haven't made mistakes on the plans and in the contract. I had a sneak-peek of the plans at the colour appointment and saw quite a few, including the name of our street. We're going down there tomorrow to see if our SC has it, if not we'll keep bugging her until she does! Re: The Journey Home - Colours + PICS! 16Jul 08, 2010 1:37 pm Our plans were being worked on when we did our colours so didn't see them. Maybe just as well. If there are mistakes DH would have been having a pink fit. Mine is the same just wants it to start, but then it will "when are they going to finish". We can't win. This will be the 4th house we have built so you would think by now he would be used to it. Good luck with your contract. Kay A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
