I am in a last minute design quandary. Like seriously last minute - the framing is up and if I need to move a window, I need to do it now! We have just decided that the 1000mm wall we were planning to put behind our cooktop to hide the rangehood from the lounge will just make our kitchen/lounge/dining area seem too small. But I am having conniptions about the rangehood being the central feature of our lives. (Yeah, I know, I won't notice it in a week ... probably, maybe, but what if ... etc).
I have tried a thousand permutations for this kitchen over a period of three years. I know all of Renomart's design rules off by heart!! I'll spare you the details, in short, the only other option is to place the fridge at the end of an island bench. I'm sure I've seen it done in magazine pictures!
Three questions:
- In your experience, what kind of space bw bench and fridge is desirable?, and
Even with that space, is it still a pain to skirt around the island to get to it?, and
Does the type of fridge influence the viability of this location at all (ours will be side by side)
All thoughts welcome. Thanks in anticipation.
