Hi there. I don't think that Ningi suffers from mozzies any worse than anywhere else near water. We did have a really bad mozzie period for a couple of weeks in about February this year, but that was due to lots of rain and I was assured by the locals that it is not normal. So, yes there are mozzies and we will be stocking up on the sandalwood. Where we are building we back onto the lake, so I guess time will tell how we go with the mozzies. There are still blocks available in our street. Good luck with your land hunting, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask Building the Grandview 36 with M$tric0n Plans approved 15/4/2010 Site start date 21/5/2010 Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32825&p=461266#p461266 Re: Northbound's M$tric0n Grandview 36 - Handover 10th Sept! 169Sep 07, 2010 7:38 pm Well the "big boss man" from M went through the house this morning, and when I spoke to our SS afterwards, he was a bit disappointed that he only scored 99.95% in the quality inspection. He was hoping to crack the 100% with our house the poor thing The only thing that the big boss man could fault with the house was something to do with a pipe in the laundry??? Anyway, the SS said that it is a 30 second job to fix it, and that he was going to kill the plumbers for him losing 0.05 points. I am so impressed with the quality control that M have with their houses. The Construction Manager was there yesterday also giving it a once over, so no complaints from us about quality control. The pool starts on Thursday so I will post some new photos of the house and our big hole on Thursday Building the Grandview 36 with M$tric0n Plans approved 15/4/2010 Site start date 21/5/2010 Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32825&p=461266#p461266 Re: Northbound's M$tric0n Grandview 36 - Handover 10th Sept! 170Sep 08, 2010 7:12 am After following your thread Nb, I agree that M are a really good builder particularly with their thoroughness of your PCI. At least you'll have peace of mind knowing it had to pass several ranks to be approved. That's really good quality control - very impressive!! Soooo, only 2 sleeps to go??? So exciting!! Re: Northbound's M$tric0n Grandview 36 - Handover 10th Sept! 171Sep 08, 2010 10:20 am 18 weeks guarantee, seriously? We are building a 33 square double storey house with M and they gave themselves just over 1 year! Not surprisingly they didn't say "We'll give a 56 week build time guarantee!" Looks like they'll finish it sooner though. We're on to our third site supervisor and this guy gets things done FAST. 15 weeks is pretty amazing.. A slight miscalculation - handover today marked eactly 16 weeks . Hopefully your new(est) SS will get your house up in no time and that they won't need a year ! Well, today was a VERY big day as we had handover, the driveway being formed up, and more work on the pool which went in yesterday. Bamboo floors will start this weekend, so no rest for the wicked . So without further ado, some photos of our creation. The facade all lit up at night Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The kitchen with all appliances installed. The microwave is too small for the cavity, or more likely the cavity is too big for the microwave. Must say I am absolutely chuffed with this. It contained wooden salt and pepper grinders, an apron (without ***** much to DH's disappointment), a mortar & pestle, a metal water jug and oil and vinegar thingys, which I was intending to buy and now don't need to Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the new view from the alfresco bifold doors Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have been so amazed at how wonderfully well our build has gone and the high quality of workmanship. We really couldn't have asked for more, so a big shout out to M. To show our appreciation, we gave our house co-ordinator a bottle of bubbly and our wonderful SS a bottle of Bunderbergs finest.
