They are both super cute I am expecting baby no 2 in a few months myself, we will have one of each like you guys unless the sonographer was wrong I hope your builder gets their butt into gear and fixes up the defects but as you say you have an alternative anyway according to your contract. We just had our maintenance guy come out and do a few minor things, the biggest thing for us is a leaking shower recess in the ensuite. We noted it as soon as we moved in but 6 months later we're still waiting.... I must admit I got fed up with chasing the SS about it so let it go till the 6 month maintenance report. Great news on selling your old house too, what a great result! I hope you guys are very happy in your lovely new home. We are very settled in and pretty mush have forgotten life before 'the house' with one toilet, no storage, no garage etc.... ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: Westy's Demo/Rebuild in Perth: update 23/9 872Nov 07, 2011 11:39 pm vanilla tree Westy! Belated + huge c o n g r a t u l a t i o n s on your beautiful new little one ~ so gorgeous! Great pic there with big brother too! Hope you're all doing well + getting some sleep in there too! Great news on selling your old house too, what a great result! I hope you guys are very happy in your lovely new home. We are very settled in and pretty mush have forgotten life before 'the house' with one toilet, no storage, no garage etc.... We are enjoying the space in this house, that is for sure! Most of our maintenance issues are resolved apart from the overflowing gutters, which is ridiculous considering they said they fixed them a couple of weeks ago (we never saw them). It's so frustrating having these things drag on, surely it can't be that hard to fix! Has your shower been fixed yet? It is nice not having the other house to worry about and also having a bit of money to do some more things around here. Soon I will be finally ordering the side gates and also blinds for at least some of the windows. We think we have settled on a combo of sunscreen rollers and blockout romans. We're still using the temp blinds but are a bit over them now and they are starting to come apart where they are glued - I'm not sure they were meant to be used this long! I still haven't finished the floor either but it's a bit hard with a baby in the house that sleeps 17 hours a day cos I can't make any noise and it's quite a noisy job! Re: Westy's Demo/Rebuild in Perth: update 23/9 874Nov 08, 2011 1:03 am Westy- I work with babies and its against the law to complain about a baby that sleeps 17 hours a day! Do it again I'll be forced to dob you in my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Westy's Demo/Rebuild in Perth: update 23/9 876Nov 08, 2011 12:59 pm lol, its ok for her to sleep taht much, but you shouldn't complain, lest she turn into a "not sleeping for more than 20 mins at a time" monster *coughhousepicscough* my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Westy's Demo/Rebuild in Perth: update 23/9 877Nov 08, 2011 4:52 pm Don't worry there is plenty of that going on at the moment as well (sleeping 20 mins at a time!). I will post some pics when I manage to clear away the toys and 'stuff', and when we have actually done something to the place! Re: Westy's Demo/Rebuild in Perth: December update 879Dec 09, 2011 11:23 pm I haven't been able to do much since we moved in, what with the new addition to the family and selling the old house, but in the last few weeks I have started to do a few things around the place. When I looked back and realised I hadn't posted pics of the driveway, I figured it was time for a picture update! So without further ado.... More about them next week! And finally, I have started to insulate the garage door to stop the radiant heat from the afternoon sun. The door is west facing and I can't put my hand on it on the inside when the sun is on it! There are commercial products out there that will do the job, but I wanted to try something a bit cheaper more to cut the heat down than fully insulate it. I borrowed the idea from a renewable energy forum - I used a laminate underlay from Bunnings that has a thin layer of foam with a foil layer on one side, and then some aluminium insulation tape to stick it down (which is heat resistant to 140C). Total cost is about $50 which should do the whole door. Better than the $150+ I was looking at for the commercial products (Reflecta GDI, Retroshield Aircell or Foilboard)!
