How long after the come out of council do the turn soil/build? After council approval they need to review the consent form and do contracts / colours appointment. It was about 3-4 weeks when we got out of council that we had contracts and Trevor got straight in and started about 6 days later. Council took us about 6 months for approval.. was sooo frustrating.. but each council is different. Beechwood won't submit plans to council until the land has been settled Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15363Jul 06, 2017 10:04 am Tom2016 Needamoneytree So I am a bit lost with the whole process. Our council is a pain too. Do you remember the time between contracts an actual start date. We have a lot of tree clearing todo. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15364Jul 06, 2017 11:24 am Troy79 tapasr_Lexia4 Sneaked inside the house as this is the only time that I can go that's still daylight (always finish work and it's already sundown). The house is really taking shape...we're just in week 12 but we've got walls already.... hubby said they have completed t All good when things are going well. We are in week 30 and still don't have a completed roof or brickwork. Have you spoken to BW about it... http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15365Jul 06, 2017 1:46 pm Tom2016 Needamoneytree So I am a bit lost with the whole process. By the time we got home after contract sign Trevor was onsite booking in site cuts and fences. Have they said anything to you about the time frame to cut the trees? I would watch the tracking system for your council so once it's approved you can get onto doing trees prior to contracts appointment. It took a few weeks from DA approval to contract appointments. Are you doing the clearing your self or contractor Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15366Jul 06, 2017 7:11 pm Tom2016 Tom2016 Needamoneytree So I am a bit lost with the whole process. Hopefully we can get things happening in the three weeks before the contract appointments. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15371Jul 06, 2017 8:39 pm Tom and those who have done their waterproofing already. Is that all that they will waterproof? Or they do all areas of the bathroom? http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15372Jul 06, 2017 8:46 pm tapasr_Lexia4 Tom and those who have done their waterproofing already. Is that all that they will waterproof? Or they do all areas of the bathroom? http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com It looks like it greatly depends on the type of material they use on the walls. We spoke with our supervisor and he said that if they use Vila board blue board etc it meets the requirements of water resistant and the amount of water proofing can be less. If they use straight out gyprock they need to waterproof a larger area cause any moisture is not good. I glad they used villa board as it should work better and last longer. We were there last Saturday with hubby and yeah they used the blue board in the bathroom and in the laundry area. But is the waterproofing (that blue paint like) is that all in the floor? A friend pick up my photos on my fb and she said when they had their renovation, it's the whole floor that was waterproofed with those blue thingy http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15374Jul 10, 2017 1:41 pm tapasr_Lexia4 Wow week 13 your house is zooming along we are at week 10 and all we have is frames and roof tiles on.Bricks have been sitting there for 10days.So disappointed our site supervisor has twice told us they would be started first on the 26th June and then he said last week and now we are at Monday and have still got no movement. Welcome to the club of the North Coast. Ours started December last year and the roof and bricking still aren't complete. That's ignoring all the defects in the brickwork. Was speaking to our future next door neighbour the other day who built with them. The build went perfect until the last month where it turned to crap due to change of site supervisor, subsequently the same site supervisor we ended up with. Joy. Stupid thing is. The owner of Beechwood Suspended all work on our site 2 weeks ago for a few various reasons. Since that day, we have had some kind of work occur on site EVERY SINGLE DAY, which is the very first time that's happened during the entire build, typically were lucky to see someone there once a week. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15376Jul 10, 2017 3:27 pm troy79...Really OMG and I'm complaining. What excuse have they been using ? I have been emailing and talking with the site supervisor but I'm sure they only tell us anything to shut us up.Were abouts are you building ? We are in Lake Macquarie. There is no communication, never has been. Building around Maitland. I got more response and action causing a noise on Facebook. Interestingly, was contacted by several people over that, and a few were local, even in the same street who are having issues and the finish of the house is a mess. Not surprisingly, same site supervisor, same as others who've contacted me who've had issues in the area. They started constructing another just a few doors up and it seems to be progressing quicker than what ours has been, frame went up this week. So will be interesting to watch to see if it progresses past ours, as we are comparing time gaps of when things happen on it to our diary. Pretty much at the point all communication is going through Fair Trading for the moment, see where that goes before persuing things further with other avenues. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15378Jul 10, 2017 6:55 pm troy79 Holy Crap scaring the hell out of me....really fair trading hope we don't get mucked around that bad !!! Yes I get on here regularly to compare as well.I would post pictures but don't know how yet.I did get another phone call from our site supervisor today after a nasty email I sent and I also vented on Facebook..He seems to think a laborer shifting bricks around the block constitutes starting the brick work...But has informed me they will start tomorrow.WELL we will see.Keep us updated how you go with fair trading is it over how long its taking or poor workmanship. Its not something anyone would wish for when building their dream !!!!
