Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1021Apr 23, 2012 6:47 pm Thanks heaps for the information. yeh we get an engineer report in relation to issue number 2 stating that it was causing the wall to collapse. Issue 3 - we didnt excavate, the wall was higher than the ground level when we brought the land. So glad Land SA has fixed everything up and of course paid for it seeing as we are the innocent party. Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1022Apr 23, 2012 6:54 pm What issues have you been experiencing? Oh shakel it has been a horrible experience!!! Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1024Apr 23, 2012 8:33 pm Meeting went terrible on Friday. This really is a horrible time and I have had a few tears. Honestly, I cant see light at the end of the tunnel with this issue. Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1025Apr 23, 2012 8:46 pm =( Where exactly is the moss rock wall in relation to the boundary? Was it originally completely on your site, but due to the rework has now crossed the boundary onto his? Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1026Apr 23, 2012 10:02 pm Just submitting the boundary plans. The rock wall has never changed the location. Basically i contacted the council today. if he wants compensation that can be negotiated through the developer and we have nothing to do with it. The issue surrounds the fences because it is ON the BOUNDARY. Now all along our road, they have no issues because they have come to an agreement but our neighbour hasnt Here are the boundary plans. The black is the boundary and you can see both of us have lost land by the rock wall. We both knew that before buying the block of land Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1027Apr 23, 2012 11:36 pm I think the biggest person to blame in all of this is the developer. If they split the land with the entire moss rock on your property, both blocks would have still sold for the exact same amount of money. Running a wall (especially that little amount) was dumb on their behalf.. That being said, your neighbour is also a little on the mentally handicapped side, how much does he think 4sqm of useless land is worth? It surely is a head against wall moment..... Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1028Apr 24, 2012 12:47 am You sound like you've had such a hard time with your neighbour! Hopefully soon he might grow a brain. I love your house btw and the new wall. Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1029Apr 26, 2012 9:44 pm Definitely. I asked council if they are allowed to do that and they said they are well within their rights. I really dont know why they tried to put it on the boundary. i suppose we were naieve when we got the land and assumed that he would put on the fence. All this time he has been saying that he would do it, but I suppose he saw us get everything replaced for free and is wanting to get $$$ out of Land SA or us..... Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1030Apr 26, 2012 9:45 pm I really hope so Natsy Patsy. I think I willl have a few stiff drinks if it gets done!!! Yeh I am sooooo happy with how it turned out Re: Jessica SA! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1031Apr 27, 2012 9:38 am Wow ... it's going to look great. At the end of the day your neighbour HAS to put up a fence that's the rules ... just trust in right being done although it's taking a while .... We are putting up with another form of mental torture from our neighbours at the back of us ... they have two small dogs that back from 5.10am and don't stop We are going to have to pay our neighbour a visit ... could be interesting For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Is FED up :( Near breaking point! 1040Jun 16, 2012 10:17 pm What a saga I really feel for you. Your house is so lovely and the wall looks like a massive improvement from what it was. It's a shame the experience has been tainted. Do you still plan to sell? I think your developer was very careless & at the same time surprised local council didn't pick this up prior to granting the delevopment approval. Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2863 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10923 Congratulations! Nice to put that to bed before christmas, now you can relax 3 7134 |
