These stick (a bit like post it notes) to the area above your window. they actually look quite good and stick pretty well. We didn't have any peel offs and actually managed to restick ours back up after peeling them off at one stage. I think a few people still have them up after 6 + months . They cost around 3-5 dollars each. Most people can do their entire house for about $100 see this thread--> viewtopic.php?f=23&t=31381&p=437235&hilit=redishade#p437235 if you call or email the company direct there are a variety of different sizes you can buy including ones to fit sliding glass doors. Bunnings tend to stock only the basic one smallest size. use the search engine and you will find a number of posts about them , some with pictures. Re: Cheap material to cover windows 7Mar 26, 2010 9:15 am I have talked to Trojan Blinds in QLD who I believe are the Australian distributor of RediShade. They can only send the blinds in 3 business days. I really need something now. Are there any stores in Sydney who might stock Redishades other than Bunnings? Troy Re: Cheap material to cover windows 8Mar 26, 2010 9:40 am Tack up some sheets if it's only going to be three days.... Drawing pins into the top of the window frame will do the job. You might find cheap fabric like unbleached calico or something, but it seems a waste of money if it's only for a few days. Quite a few houses around here taped black plastic to the inside of their windows. Some still have it up, long after moving in. I can't think of anything more depressing.... Re: Cheap material to cover windows 9Mar 26, 2010 10:17 am This company says it has a new product similar to Redi Shade, http://www.shuttersrus.com.au/products/ ... /index.php. In their contact details they have stores in Sydney. "Blinds in a Box" also sell temporary blinds very cheaply. I think they may be based in Melbourne though, don't know if they use stockists anywhere else or are only internet orders. They were on the tv program Dragon's Den for new products/inventions. No. The QLD importer advised me that Bunnings is the national distirbutor & they aren't available anywhere else Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Cheap material to cover windows 11Mar 26, 2010 2:08 pm kazza This company says it has a new product similar to Redi Shade, http://www.shuttersrus.com.au/products/ ... /index.php. Re: Cheap material to cover windows 20Jul 04, 2010 7:22 pm zeitgeber Just buy large black garbage bags from the supermarket if it's only for a few days. I used them for a couple of years until I could save up for proper curtains. If your visitors are your real friends, they wouldn't mind. Thanks for the tip zeitgeber! I dont care what others think as we would rather take our time getting the right window furnishings. We went to Bunnings at Noarlunga today and they had the Rediblinds in a bucket bin at the end of one of the isles They were $5.97 each and will be perfect for our front windows. We tested them out tonight and they do the trick - bargain! Thanks all for your input - now there is no rush to buy window furnishings!!
