Of course that won't necessarily stop them making it difficult for you so that you give way rather than them, but that doesn't remove any of your rights. (n.b. does not constitute legal advice, disclaimer, blah blah) Re: Advice on change requested by builder 4Feb 09, 2010 4:45 pm We had the same thing happen. We ended up rearranging the bathroom layout to fit the spa and extended the shower in the ensuite. Extra cost was approx $1200. With us the problem arose with the sales people not running things past the drafting team when preparing pricing to see it if was possible. For us, it all came down to the design of the bathroom and what would fit. M were helpful though in trying to find a solution, they just didn't have anything we liked other than the original. In this case the spa bath we don't want IS free, as it's included in a promotion. The other spa bath we chose (that we can't have) would also have been the same price - free as part of the promotion. What I'm annoyed about is that they told us we could have that until just now, and now they expect us to simply accept it. They also have yet to say anything remotely resembling "sorry". utesrock, so they also waited until after selections before telling you it wouldn't fit? You'd think with only having 4 bathtubs on offer they would know which ones fit in which bathrooms! I doubt we have space to rearrange things in ours unfortunately. Partner went nuts and that's when the rearranging became an option. I have heard that they have changed a lot of suppliers which maybe why choices are now limited. We signed June 09 and stared building in Nov 09. Had a lot more options available than what I have been reading on the forum. What I don't understand is that I asked them if I can have another model from the same company (Stylus), and I would be willing to pay for it, but they said they won't do it. All they will do is their basic 4 options. Their attitude is full of "we can't do that", and it's not even "sorry we can't do that", it's just "X is not an option, your option is Y". Up until yesterday night I wasn't expecting much, but when I got on the phone with M this morning they said they can give a spa bath model which not only fits, but is even better in terms of features than the one we were going to get! They also took responsibility for having made a mistake in the first place, which is what I had been wanting. So it all worked out in the end. And my opinion of M has gone up considerably.
