Blog List add 968Jul 04, 2011 11:21 am Yes, the neighbours are meant to be notified however we noticed in our area the documents were only sent to neighbours who had already moved in! Quite annoying it wasn't sent to all involved - wouldn't have been that hard to obtain contact details. Oh and you can get an idea of what they're building - go to the Blacktown Council website - developments online - construction certificates - search the street name and it usually states if it's a single or 2 storey dwelling (I think), if not, it states the approx. cost which gives a bit of an idea. We had to do something similar re our neighbour who has only just had a slab poured. When we 1st saw it, we couldn't believe how close it looked to the boundary (literally on the boundary) and with only about 2m to the back fence. By the looks of it, it was going to be a 2 storey monster completely over-shadowing ours. Hubby checked out the council site and then the builders website to suss out the floor plans to see which one matched and our mind was put at ease somewhat. Blog List add 969Jul 04, 2011 12:38 pm Thanks Karry, yeah seems quite odd that there was no advice sent to us - nothing you can do i suppose... I have just checked the construction certificates online as you said and there seems to be nothing..... I suspect they went through a private cerifier?..... the misses is stressing and scared that they are going to 'block our sun' (she's funny) at the end of the day there is nothing you can do! it is what it is..... we'll just have to wait and see as they start building.... fingers crossed... Our plans are finally in the ponds review, fingers crossed. Our builder did the landscaping plans for us as he said they know what the ponds requirements are, I didn't really say much as it saved me $1000.00 as they didn't charge us. It's such a long process to start building. We drive past our land all the time just to see the grass growing, can't wait to see something happen. Congrats to everyone elese getting a start. Building The Verdelho (modified) At The Ponds Contract Signed - 30 November 2011 Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 978Jul 17, 2011 10:12 pm We have been framed....... We have been framed. Yes over in Waterfall 9, we have been 'growing' our house. We have had hardworking carpenters working away over the school holidays and our frame is now complete. The bricklayers will be in tomorrow to do their termite treatment along with the plumber to do his 'roughing in'. (Apparently this is the 'rough' pipes for the house). Bricklayers will be starting on Tuesday - so long as the rain stays away. If Matt or Caza are reading... there's been no more work done since you were there last. Things have been fairly slow on the other builds in the area except for Ben and Thigee as there are always people at their house. Phil met one of our other neighbours today (on the north side) who are a young couple with a young baby. We shall continue to hope / pray for good weather. The full story is on the blog with some pictures and more will be added tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a great weekend. The Reedman Home Building a custom design home with Modernview Homes.
