My fingers are crossed for you and your GF!!! Re: Our Places Fairhaven 23+ - PCI 22nd 725Nov 20, 2010 2:56 pm Thanks everyone, we had a disaster averted moment this morning. By chance I dropped in with a friend to have a look around and get a second opinion on a few bits and pieces around the place when from no where suddenly we heard rushing water. Looked inside the bathroom window to see the shower running full pelt So a very quick run to the mains to turn it off with the result that we stopped the rising tide prior to it reaching the carpet. Was soooo very bloody strange though, no one around apart from us (and a few tradies a couple of sites away) and suddenly both showers are running at max whilst upon examination of the laundry there was water flowing out of the under trough cupboard as it seems on of the flex hoses to the mixer hasn't been connected correctly. In addition to this the house was only plumbed into the mains yesterday and the fitoff as it stands isn't complete, neither shower has taps, just the plastic grey things to apparently lock them in the off position (NOT ON ) while there was nothing coming from the bathroom or ensuite sinks that I assume must actually be connected properly, whilst they haven't even fitted off two of the exterior taps So yes bigs thumbs up to our SS who upon recieving my messages actually called back on a Saturday, and a BIG thumbs down to the plumbers who clearly didn't do something right given the work wasn't complete and yet somehow there was full mains pressure connected, despite the fact they were scheduled to be complete last Thursday and didn't turn up till yesterday. The mains is now off, it has a sign on it not to turn it on, and woe betide anyone who ignores it and floods our house Our Build - Places Fairhaven 23+ - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28045 Our Landscaping - Belial's Backyard - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45375 Re: Our Places Fairhaven 23+ - Crisis Averted 726Nov 20, 2010 3:33 pm Now that i've calmed a little, pics for all those following at home. Still after discussing it with our SS yesterday we'll assess it tomorrow but we're going to push for the laundry cupboard to be replaced, as clearly melamine isn't designed to stand up to standing water on it. Still PCI goes ahead tomorrow, despite the fact that practically nothing on the to do list was actually completed, should make for an interesting day. Good luck with your PCI today. Re: Our Places Fairhaven 23+ - ******* thieves 736Nov 22, 2010 10:40 am Hi everyone, Does it seem to be that it never rains it only pours ? Well PCI is cancelled for today, overnight we had some *insert words that otherwise would be censored anyway here* thief break in through our garage wall to gain access to the house. And all they took was two shower fittings and one of the double sensor lights from outside, i mean really FFS They've put us back even further as now there in no chance that CofO can go ahead tomorrow, all over what $40 of crap anyone can buy at the big green shed?????? I mean seriously wtf motivates someone to go to that much effort to cut and break through a plaster wall over that, it completely alludes me and now my partner and I are now quite concerned about on our security when we finally are done So yeah pretty much that is it, the house will be becoming a secure fortress with constant surveillance from here on out, and whilst I highly doubt anyone on H1 or reading this would be so clearly ****** in the head to perpetrate such a ridiculous crime let alone consider doing it again, the police are now involved and the details of several vehicles seen in our street last night have been passed along. So onto the damage the hole in the plaster Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 20101122-IMG_9772 by Belial669, on Flickr Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 20101122-IMG_9774 by Belial669, on Flickr The stolen shower fittings Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 20101122-IMG_9777 by Belial669, on Flickr Nice clear bootprints left in the shower Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 20101122-IMG_9779 by Belial669, on Flickr And the torn off spotlight, i mean ffs what the point in stealing a now broken spotlight what kind of morons do this. And you know, it raises the issue posted on the general discussion thread about how our corporate body (or whatever you call it now) fees are best spent, and my hand is up for mobile security. Sandhurst estate has a guy driving around in a car with 'Security' nice and clear on the side, and you really get a strong sense the place is protected. Our estate really needs the same. Especially with so many builds going on at the same time. Who takes these things and what do they do with them? Bizarre. Also - how do they know where to break through - i.e. where there is no frame or whatever - and not good to say it, but they look like workman boot treads. If it is any consolation, drove past yesterday afternoon to check out your awesome portico (!), and noticed there was a couple (left-hand side driving away from yours about half-way down) who were out the front doing some landscaping. They might have seen or noticed something/anything. Just goes to show we need to keep an eye out for each other's build as we go...
