I'd do it again provided I have the funds! My parents built three times, I think they got addicted too. AND, no matter how much money you had to build your dream home, I bet that there will always be things that you'd forget or wish you had done. I'd definitely build again!! Although i intend on staying put for the next ten... twenty... thirty years LOL If i had the money i'd build myself a holiday home somewhere nice viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Building Rivervale - Lock Up! 163May 05, 2010 5:58 pm Here's to hoping I won lotto last night because I haven't checked the tickets yet lol. I'm in love with your cedar roof lined afresco! We're having no luck getting a completion date out of our builder either... we have a 270 (9 month) contract... we're coming up to the 7 month mark... wish we knew a date... maybe they're planning to surprise us because I like surprises? Re: Building Rivervale - Lock Up! 165May 06, 2010 1:35 am My hubby and I must be the few who vow never to build again AND we were relatively lucky with a problem free build! If I ever did build again, I would make sure that there isn't a drainage easement running along the entire length of the land!!!! If I ever did build again, I would make sure that there isn't a drainage easement running along the entire length of the land!!!! Yeah , Id make sure of that too, In fact we looked at a block right on the lake and park just up the street from us that we liked (ironically right behind a house I used to own) that was excellent, except for the massive easement right along the side where we would want to put entertainment rooms and alfresco stuff and hence, said no to that. Sposed to be grano'd ( assuming the garage but i would not be of the slightest bit surprised if they meant the benchtops or the sinks ) tomorrow and cabinetry on Tuesday ( assuming it has all been pre cut ) and maybe then they will exchange the incorrect spa. Now before everyone goes out of their freakin' minds - the following is a joke not in any way threatening , we dont wanna end up all Basic Instincty. Remember that episode of the Simpsons when Homer tries to up the number of people attending the Bowling alley ( with a Shotgun ) so he could get a payrise. Would it be too American to try to get the attention of ones builder using this method - Certainly be fun. That would be so awesome! And I'd also like to install like a slide to get from the second storey to down below and have secret passageways, ooOoo... And maybe a cellar too. Its time for an update with cutlery as builders have done Fork all again. On the plus side have a plan for stage 2 , but alas no scanner ( will fix this soon K ), and I have buyers lining up for inspections on current place of residence and I havent advertised for any home opens yet. Fingers crossed . And a new study asks the question " Can Bees Think " . Research show No , they can not. I so love the concept of a cellar - good for storage, laundry room, hubb's cave for sulking moments.... I miss the cellar we had in Europe...(sigh) But alas, we don't have a money tree... A laundry chute would've been nice too but the layout of the house was such that the laundry was nowhere near anywhere that could have a chute! (sigh).
