Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 22, 2009 2:51 pm Hi everyone, I'm posting this here and another spot as well hoping to find someone who knows about this sort of thing. I had some roman blinds installed by a carpet/curtain place. I wasn't there when they were installed as our new house is on a farm and is 15 minutes from where we are currently living. I couldn't be there but my husband let him in (the house is unfinished ATM). I noticed a quite deep dent in my Freestyle benchtops and a small chip in the top coat. My husband seems to think it would have to have been quite a heavy item (drill or similar) to cause the dent. It definately wasn't there before. So my question is - do these type of places have insurance for these things? They go into people's house's everyday and possibly could break windows etc so surely they are covered for this sort of thing? It will be difficult to prove but I am damn sure it wasn't there before. Any suggestions? I haven't contacted the place yet but have been feeling sick about it for days! Thanks Jilly Re: The guy who installed my curtains damaged my benchtop! 2Oct 23, 2009 7:03 am I think you might be in trouble because you cannot prove he did it, and yes they should have insurance.
