Yes, for the feature wall I would consider it. DH likes Dulux rusted crimson (A79), but I'm not sure if this would be too dark? Would it go with coconut husk (dulux A140) for the front wall render, and with the roof/brick colours we mentioned previously (carlisle brick, tundra roof)? Or is it better not to put two strong colours like rusted crimson and coconut husk together, maybe use a lighter brown? He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen! Dulux Hog Bristle would also look nice with the bricks and the aubergine? Thanks Michelle and Kerrin62 for your opinions, they have been really helpful. We saw the Carlisle bricks for the first time yesterday, and realised they were actually darker than they looked in the brochure, and darker than we wanted against the white uPVC window frames. So we were back to the Dulux sample shelf at the local hardware store yesterday (and again today!), and back to the austral brick display today. We've been successful though, and have pretty much decided on the following external colours: Brick: Austral Metropolis range, colour - Marcasite (http://www.australbricks.com.au/Product ... Metropolis) Roof tiles: Bristile Classic range, colour - Mulga (http://www.bristileroofing.com.au/brist ... hp?ID=1271) Guttering + fascia: colourbond Jasper (colour matches really well with the Mulga tile) downpipes: Dune (a more neutral colour against the bricks than Jasper) Eaves: probably Hogs Bristle 1/2 Main Render on front: Hogs Bristle - currently deciding on full or 1/2 strength (but leaning toward the 1/2) (Thanks Kerrin62) Front feature wall render: We like the Purple Empire (thanks Kerrin62), but am wondering if it will be too dark and should we consider 1/2 strength - has anyone ever used 1/2 strength purple empire (have you Michelle?) - how did it compare to the full strength? Garage door: Not sure at this stage - we have a wood fascia/feature above the porch entrance, so I wanted to use the colorbond 'cedar' garage door, but DH is thinking more along the lines of a light colour - maybe Dune or Stone would work?? Any opinions/ideas on the above colour scheme will be gratefully received - thanks all for your help. He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen! Re: Time to make decisions............... 17Oct 05, 2009 10:02 am Have you bought some sample pots? You need to paint at least an A4 size area to get an indication. I personally like the PE and HB in full strength The lighter shades of purple empire are Dulux "fiji coral" and then "purposeful" Go to Dulux web site and check it out. I wasnt able to upload the pics for some reason Anyway Michelle will be able to advise you further when she has a chance to reply. She has been such a big help in deciding my colours. I'll probably do a second coat before I take a good look at it. I'm thinking of teaming the sea elephant (or maybe Dulux Havana) against the HB and PE for the front door (which will sit between the HB and PE walls) - I'll see how they look together. Thanks so much for your suggestions Kerrin62!! Susan He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen!
