PCI is the 25th and we expect handover a week after that if all is well. For those who have finished builds wit Carlisle, what has your experience been in terms of how the site is left? Our block is pretty unlevel and messy at the moment. Just wondering is that's the way it's going to be left or if there's a bit of effort done to leave things a bit flatter and cleaner? Is anyone else building from the essential range? We have not had our colour appointment yet, as they are still drawing up the master plans for our house. Our site start isn't until June, but I am a little nervous that everything will become rushed if they don't finish the plans soon. I now have a CLE They've been so far very patient with all my questions, and I am very pleased that though my block will probably require piers and a retaining wall it's all to be included in the fixed site costs. In addition, we were looking to make some structural changes that we were unsure would be approved and found out a few hours after submission, they had all been approved. Very pleased so far with how quickly they're sorting things! I've got my first colour appointment on the 16th and anticipate spending a lot of time there and taking MANY photos. Is there anything anyone wants photos of in particular? I'm going to try to be as comprehensive as I possibly can. I'm going to be firm on knowing costings beforehand too, as we have a budget to stick to and every little thing counts. The Spectra booklet states that costs need to be calculated and can only be revealed at tender but I'm not cool with that, I need at the very least approximates. I agree LittleWing, otherwise it will be more work for them, because if I realise I can't afford it at the tender I will be cutting it out and asking them to change it. Our colour appointment is on the 21st of this Month. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3532Mar 05, 2013 12:37 pm Yes, we upgraded tiles, put laminate throughout the non wet areas down stairs and quite a few other changes including electrical upgrades, i think I spent the most there along with a structural change of opening up my rumpus room to the living area Odessa 34 by Carlisle http://carlisleodessa.blogspot.com/ Deposit 6/5/12 Colour Selection 12/6 Contract Signing 26/6 Site Cut 2/10 Slab 9/10 Framing 26/10 Roof 2/11 Lots of other crap PCI 21/2/13 Settlement 22/3 Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3533Mar 05, 2013 12:42 pm When we were at Spectra our consultant was able to give us prices for upgrades so we could decide. I wouldn't be too worried about that. Our walls are now been plastered and it was a bit concerning that the bedrooms upstairs were a little on the dark side. I've never quite understood about the overuse of highlight and thin windows these days, it makes the rooms look like a jail cell! Will. Good Luck Thanks, Debra50 for the feedback. We are actually getting ADLS service from another provider and not Telstra. We've got 2 options - either let Dodo deal with Telstra to do the phone connection, problem here is that we won't be able to haggle with the connection fee arguing we've got the T&T package during build. Second option is for us to do the phone connection first with Telstra but since we're not getting a bundle from them, I don't think our chances of getting the connection fee waved is very slim . I would agree....Telstra will only waive fee with a bundle. If your connecting phone and internet with Dodo haggle with them to waive the connection fee for your business i.e. let them deal with Telstra fee. T&T during build is a separate charge. At the time we had no option in our estate but to connect with Telstra - with our two year contract coming to an end I will now look at other providers. Is it via a tube/pipe to the external vent? I hope so! Also, does anyone who has an internal toilet/bathroom know where it vents to as well? I'm assuming some sort of pipe that goes to an external vent at the side of the house? Talking double storeys here btw....Thanks. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3540Mar 07, 2013 12:01 pm Hello everyone, a question for all of you building or have built with Carlisle- do Carlisle provide solid hardwood or bamboo floors (obviously as an upgrade)? I am not sure yet whether we would go for floating or whether we really would like solid hardwood. Any experiences would be appreciated!
