Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2482Dec 15, 2011 11:10 pm It's been a while since my last post but I've been super super busy! We got the keys to our house!! We settled on Tuesday, 13th of Decemeber. Had our final inspection on Monday the 12th. No way in hell that we could settle on the Thursday before, way too many things to get fixed. Most things on the list were fixed or addressed (the major ones anyway). So it look just over 2 weeks after PCI to get everything addressed. We had to sign a letter of undertaking so we could settle and that the remaining items would be addressed after settlement. I am happy to say all the items are almost fixed. It was really tight as I had the concreter booked for Tuesday, so lucky we got the keys on Monday. We also got the sides of the house done. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2484Dec 19, 2011 2:18 pm Well, after early land settlement Carlisle did not start before christmas as promised. No biggy, we would prefer to wait until after xmas break anyway. We now have our start date and our scrape is scheduled for Jan 12 (weather dependant). Have you tried your CLE or the SS. They can put you through the maintenance dept. If you have recently moved in then your SS can also handle this as he can get a plumber sent out straight away. 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2486Dec 19, 2011 3:17 pm Tramsok It's been a while since my last post but I've been super super busy! We got the keys to our house!! We settled on Tuesday, 13th of Decemeber. Congratulations Tramsok We settled on Thursday 15th and moved in the next day. House looks like a bombsite with boxes everywhere, but steadily working through room by room so it will feel like a home in time for Christmas Day. Only problem was with hot water (there was none) and the plumber came out today to fix so I don't have to take any more cold showers in the morning. Unfortunately our CLE omitted to tell us that there was a cutoff date for someone to visit and to activate your heating/cooling before Xmas so we have to wait until Jan 10 when they reopen. Frustrating as we would have booked it earlier if we were told. Overnight rain has revealed the perils of no driveway, paving and landscaping so will get a load of crushed rock delivered for the driveway and side setbacks during the week so it's not so muddy and slippery. Big backyard is a different proposition altogether. Where we're located in Doreen, there is no fixed line available for phone and internet until Feb 24, 2012 as Telstra are upgrading the distribution cabling in the area, my provider iiNet are sending a mobile handset, sim card at fixed line call rates as an interim phone service and a 3G wireless modem and sim card for mobile broadband. I anticipated this in advance so it's no biggie but it's a huge drop from a monthly 1TB plan to a 2GB plan and it's only temporary. EDIT - Yay it turns out we did have an appointment booked before end of year for heating and cooling to be activated after all. Of all the things that can go wrong during a build, I can't really complain with the few problems we encountered which were quite minor in the scheme of things. Not including internet connection or modem for internet connection." We're following up with head office when they reopen on Monday however I'm curious if other H1 members who have built with Carlisle have paid for it and could explain exactly what they received and how it works. I've got data ports installed throughout the house and Argus delivered the Cisco switch but for the life of me I can't work out how this setup is expected to work if the ports terminate in the study which is what was requested. I was expecting to find an enclosure with a patch panel that the switch and modem/router would be connected to so that any device with an ethernet connection could plug into any data port and share internet and local network resources. Just installing data ports and providing a switch isn't going to provide a centrally wired data distribution network on its own. Sorry can't help you there, for the price of what Carlisle wanted for any extra wiring I could do my whole house automation wiring for. Perhaps give Carlisle a call to see if they can help or at least send someone out for you? Usually you plug your switch in, connect it to an external connecting modem, you then have a cat6 plug from router to wall and everything then feeds off that input. Anything said here is just a guess as I dont know their setup. Hi mqtutor, Sorry for the late reply, been busy unpacking (place still looks like a bomb site) We chose Brush Box for teh floorboards. So far, place has been great but you do pick up some poor workmanship when you live in the house for a few weeks that you don't pick in during PCI or in natural light. One thing that has been dissapointing is the tiling and grouting around our shower niche's which we paid extra for. Very poor job, need to bring it up with Carlisle when they open. Not sure if it is something they will fix at maintenance or immediately as there are still things on the letter of undertaking still outstanding which should have been completed back on the 20th of December Keep you all posted Tramsok Building Montana 27 with Carlisle Homes @ Harcrest 23/10/11 Land Ballot 05/12/10 Deposit 27/07/11 Contract 20/08/11 Site Start 13/09/11 Slab 22/09/11 Frame complete 13/10/11 Lock-up 25/11/11 PCI Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2497Jan 09, 2012 9:41 am CBPH We had 20 free downs, we positioned them in places so that we could rip out the fluros they were offering and place in leds once we are in. Building Atlantique 36 (single story.) It cost around $10K - that was after a $5k rebate for the evap cooling, the full price was $15k. They have to upgrade the heating as well because the shared ducts are larger than the standard heating is. Also means you get 3 phase power with the switch board in the garage instead of in the outside meter box. My wife and I are looking to build with Carlisle and we had a question regarding their preferred data/electrical supplier called Argus. Has anyone discussed the data wiring (or other pre-wire) with Argus prior to Contract? Also, if you have had a consultation with Argus, was the work included in the final contract with the builder or was it a separate contract with Argus? Carlisle are insisting that we have a separate contract with Argus - even for things such as central vacuuming, and theatre pre-wire. Any advice will be appreciated. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2500Jan 10, 2012 12:47 pm We have Argus for the home theatre wire including the projector pack. We didn't have any consultation with Argus & it was just included in the building contract. Argus aren't even mentioned in the contract, it just says supply home theatre pre wire only etc. The locations of the points are in the electrical diagram. Maybe it's different if you have the data cabling.
