Hi Southtoeast, I thought Carlisle did colourbond roofing? Are you building a t range or affinity? My guess is that if it's a lower end home they may not offer it. Bill. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1843Mar 10, 2011 12:33 pm southtoeast Hi, been reading the thread, thank you all for sharing. We are thinking to build with Carlisle, my husband is very keen to put Colorbond roof, however Carlisle said they are not doing it. Anybody knows why? We are building an Affinity range home with Carlisle and we asked for Colorbond roofing, it is an option, the ball park figure they gave us was around $12k to upgrade to colorbond roof on a 36sq house. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1844Mar 10, 2011 2:55 pm From memory it's just doubles they don't do Colorbond on - coz we were looking at the Prominence 38 when we were looking around and they said that we couldn't get it on the double and then when we were advised how much it was for our Atlantique we decided we didn't like Colorbond that much!!! Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1845Mar 10, 2011 3:35 pm I always thought a colourbond roof was cheaper than tiles so its a bit weird that Carlisle charges so much? I like the look of them. You can PM me if you prefer. Thanks, Bill. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1851Mar 10, 2011 5:20 pm I just checked and traditional are actually CAT2. Upgrade for the montrose 36 was about $710. I think it jumps about $6-700 per CAT for roof tiles on a 36 odd square house Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1852Mar 10, 2011 6:36 pm stillwaters I just checked and traditional are actually CAT2. Upgrade for the montrose 36 was about $710. I think it jumps about $6-700 per CAT for roof tiles on a 36 odd square house I was at Spectra on the weekend for my colour browse. The current Affinity inclusions promotion includes upgrade to 'Traditional' CAT2 tiles. To upgrade to CAT3 (from CAT2) is approximately $500. To upgrade to CAT4 is approximately another $5k - apparently the flat tiles in CAT4 and above require some special sealing treatment because they are flat So no colorbond roof for me, and no Georgian tiles which was my next preference. Stillwaters, can you please post some pics of your Traditional tiles which will make me drool??? Pleeeeaaaaase???? **Edited to add, the prices I am quoting above were for a single story 36sq home Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1853Mar 10, 2011 6:44 pm $710 seems reasonable for an alternative to colorbond. Better than the $12k for colorbond. Good choice Stillwaters. Fortunately with our current promo the cat 2 tiles are included......so how was ur colour browsing exp ?....this was our first with Carlisle and 2nd overall (previously with another Builder)...hehe.....what we found was that Carlisle team took time to explain each and every option available. We spent about 4.5 hours and pretty much got all selections done Got a call yesterday and have our colour and tender appointments all set up.... 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1855Mar 10, 2011 8:08 pm Hi Are you getting your telephone connection with Optus or Telstra. Who does Carlisle use? If it is Optus do you have to pay extra to get underground optus connection to your new house. Thanks Yellow Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1856Mar 10, 2011 9:15 pm Yellow Hi Are you getting your telephone connection with Optus or Telstra. Who does Carlisle use? Thanks Yellow Hi Yellow, Carlisle provide a Telephone Trenching package for you but I don't think they connect the service. It would be up to you to arrange the connection after handover. Also, I was under the impression that Telstra owns all lines in the streets and that all other carriers simply rent off of them. I may be wrong though. Bill. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1857Mar 10, 2011 9:21 pm Pretty sure Bill&Jackki is right about the phoone connections. You can connect your line with any service provider you choose but its up to you to arrange that part yourself. I will take some on Saturday morning and post them over the weekend Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1860Mar 11, 2011 10:02 am Oooh they're the same as ours Traditional in Barramundi - you can see a couple of photos of ours on pg 13 of my thread - i deleted most of the shots as it had my facade in it (for security purposes due to my facade and the amount of break ins we had through out the build) - but if you want to see some more photos just PM me and I'd be happy to share.
