My brother who is sort of in the industry is going to help us, if we didnt have him i would definetly get an inspector even if it just was for the final inspection, cause there are things that i wouldnt pick up like a wall being bowed and but apparently there is an amount that they can be, if that makes sense. Good luck with mowing your lawn. Did you ask your CLE how common it is that people have to mow their lawn, cause you are the first i have heard of. how long from your land settling to site start has it been for you. Hi montana29, Good to know that you have some progress with your building. My CLE advised that it is not that common to have the land mowed and this usually happens when it takes 2-3 months from the title to settlement. My land got settled on 30th of Sep and CLE is saying that they will have the site start by end of this week. fingers cross. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1709Oct 12, 2010 12:15 pm Hi Huntclubber, Thats exciting, i hope they do start on your block. Did you origianally have a start site date when you signed the contracts ? Which house are you building ? You prob have said somewhere in the forum. I will have my fingers crossed for you... Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1711Oct 15, 2010 7:55 am flipflop2010 Hi o_o! We just completed signing our HIA contract today. THE CLE would only give information if you ask, so best to go through the contract thoroughly prior to the signing and send your list of questions by e-mail so you will have written proof of their responses. Goodluck! Hi flipflop2010 Thank you for your kind wish. I've signed my HIA contract on Wednesday. Now, somehow I'm feeling like waiting for a tsunami to come or expecting the unexpected. Just hope that everything will be okay. Carlisle has modified their Atlantique MkII floorplan to have ensuite in every bedroom with an extra cost of $10,000. I think that it's a very excellent option. I wished that it was available a little bit earlier. Cheers o_o Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1712Oct 15, 2010 2:01 pm I'm currently building with Carlisle. At the start I was very pessimistic about everything and made sure every single item was checked/read/checked again. I even went to the trouble of printing ALL the relevant Australian standards for residential construction to make sure i had ammo when things went wrong. i was so negative that I didn't even want to sign contracts where i had o take some of the risk (still think we shouldn’t have to do this btw). well so far everything has been great, the build is going well, staff are doing their job and issues are resolved as appropriate. After reading a few recent posts (another builder) regarding display homes and what is standard etc. i think this is the best thing about Carlisle. their displays are pretty much standard except for tile coverings and a few nic knacks. Anything that is not standard is clearly pointed out by their sales guy. No surprises at all. You know what you are getting and you can see it in the display. Good work Carlisle. Keep it up Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1713Oct 15, 2010 2:10 pm I have been thinking the exact same thing lately I think it's very easy to get caught up in the negatives experienced by others and expect the worst. However, my experience with Carlisle so far has been fantastic. The house isn't finished yet (in fact it has just started) and it is not that everything so far has been perfect, but any time there has been a situation, Carlisle have handled it extremely well and worked with me to find a solution that we are happy with. In my opinion I couldn't ask for more than that...so thanks Carlisle bicko123 I'm currently building with Carlisle. That has made me feel at easy now. bicko123, reading your first paragraph, I thought "hey, that's me". I was like that. I'd spent a lot of time googling, gone through all the documents. I'm glad that I've done that. They do make mistakes. A big CONGRATS to D2B. QUE SERA SERA (What will be, will be).... Hi flipflop2010, I feel for you. Waiting for titles is the worst thing. So stressful, especially if you have "late fees" hanging over you too. The thing I found with the title delays was that you could NEVER believe anything the developer said. We got told on so many occasions that the certificate of compliance is due on Thursday (2 days away), or due next week, and it still was about 2 months later until it all happened! Best of luck. 0 4972 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6144 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 |
