Just let him know that Daniel Sherrington gave you his details. Good luck Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2225Oct 04, 2012 12:05 pm sherro1 Hi, no I went with a few reviews and also checked out their facebook page and then went to this place where they have an example set up of some of their work, it is in Braeside. http://www.designercentre.com.au/ Mark Bell the MD is a nice guy, if you like, give him a call on 0414 062 379. he starts my job next week so will be in Somerfield so would be able to come and see you, take a look and give you a quote. Good luck Thanks Daniel Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2227Oct 04, 2012 1:15 pm I think that comes down to your own choice based on your lifestyle to decide what is the best energy company for you as opposed to the actual estate. switchwise is worth a look. http://www.switchwise.com.au as you can compare rates your builder will have gone with one as default to have power supplied to the pit (Simonds is Origin) so I intend on calling them up once I am in and seeing what they can do to keep me as a customer, otherwise ill probably pay the bill used up by the builders and to keep place powered in move and then shop about. Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2230Oct 28, 2012 8:36 am By incresing the roof height is it necessary to increase the heights of all doors and windows. Does this eventually increase the cost of providing window and door coverings ? Please advice Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2231Oct 28, 2012 9:33 am We just increased the roof of the bottom floor and left the windows and doors as is. Its only a small amount that you dont really notice, but makes the room feel more open Building the Carlisle Sienna 31 at Somerfield Lot 1550 Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2232Oct 29, 2012 12:26 pm I am using Evolve your outdoors, seem like a decent bunch of guys, doing my concreting and doing some other bits and pieces. Have been in for a week - it has been hugely stressful as we had a big vacate and utilities and Simonds really dropped the ball on the final 1% of things but overall very pleased. Some points which might help you, make sure you check. 1. We took keys of the house on the 9th October and went to the house straight away for our own look around only to find NOTHING had been changed from final inspection. House was really dusty and dirty, locks and other small items due to be fixed not done and garage full of trade waste. Poor form on Simonds part, that really should have been the easy part for them after doing such a good job building house. You want to walk into your new house and have a sparkling and all things fixed up, not dirty and full of trade waste... 2. No Gas metre installed - MAKE SURE you check with your SS before you move in that Origin or whoever it is have installed a gas metre outside the house, we had trades people turning up with cookers and to set up heating and cooling and hot water and had to wait 3 days without any of the above. Poor PM by Simonds again. 3. No Telstra box installed - Again We had our line connected and assumed with smart community and the new hills home hub it would all set up nicely, but NO, Telstra still need to put a box on the outside...wasn't done (and wont be until tomorrow) so no phone, internet or TV for a week...Again wasn't told about this by Telstra or SS but an inconvenience 4. Getting final things done has been a chore and lots of chasing Simonds when I should not have to... That is all the negative stuff, but other than that, really pleased with house, area, and cant wait to fast forward 6 months to see the street transformed. Met all the neighbours and guys across the road all cool. hurry up and move in people.... Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2234Oct 31, 2012 10:16 am Hi all, I just found and join this wonderful forum and I am sure will benefit from the experience you all have. I am looking at the H&L packages at Somerfields and saw what Sienna Homes is offering is just too hard to give it a miss. I just to want find out whether they are good in term of quality of the house and customer service wise if things go wrong. Any people here have built a house with them? Mind to share the experience? Will be greatly appreciated. Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2235Oct 31, 2012 9:28 pm Does the evaporative air conditioning work for both gnd and first floor of a house. Some of the builders offer only for the first floor and some for both. Can anyone share their experience please. thanks Re: Somerfield Estate Keysborough 2238Nov 09, 2012 3:29 pm J & C What option does one have if the owners of neighbouring block try to delay fencing by offering you an excuse stating they aren't sure what they will be doing with their block J&C here is the greater dandy page on fencing http://www.greaterdandenong.com/documen ... tle=Fences It makes no sense that they are unsure about fencing as we all have to follow Somerfield developer requirement even if we back onto another estate. Can someone share their experience..can't be that hard. if you've signed up for internet too, you'll receive a modem in the mail. We received it about 3 days after they connected our home phone and free to air TV. You're internet is activated the day your modem is sent out so once you've received your modem, you just have to set it up before you about to jump online. You'll need your user name and password of your email address to set up your modem. For foxtel, you'll have to book in another technician to set up that. Mike and Jen |
