I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and will look forward to the pics Tip of the day for Chuck: Bend down near the cupboard doors and see from that angle, sometimes this is the only way to see if there are any scratches. (If it wasn't for picking something up from the floor I would have missed that the whole back panel of my kitchen benchtop had a massive scratch along it! 18/06/09 Pre-Start / 18/09/09 Slab / 05/10/09 Brickwork / 21/10/09 Roof / 11/12/09 Lock-up 18/02/10 PCI 04/03/10 HANDOVER My Building Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24789 Re: Jodes House - Aussie Living (WA) DONE!!! 2431Mar 03, 2010 12:50 pm viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Jodes House - Aussie Living (WA) DONE!!! 2432Mar 03, 2010 1:59 pm Thank you everyone for all your well wishes for PCI today!!! SO!!! This morning went off BEAUTIFULLY!!! Arrived right on the dot of 8am, to find that my SS hadn't yet arrived, so I had a mini meltdown thinking that i had the wrong day or the wrong time or that i'd just imagined the whole thing!!! Luckily he arrived about 2 minutes later We started on the inside of the house and my SS explained *everything* to me, and i do mean everything!! From the non-slamming kitchen drawers (i had fun playing with them and trying to slam them closed... hehehe) to exactly how the rangehood, stove and oven works (we got out all the manuals and were trying to figure out how the stove knobs worked LOL) and then got excited over how the lights worked on the rangehood and the fact that you can put the rangehood on a timer so it goes off automatically!! Very trippy We went through each room looking high and looking low, he explained about the paint drips and bits and bobs that the maintenance person would fix on Friday. We checked the shelving and doors, and taps and plugs and drains and watched water draining and toilets flushing, and shower doors squeeking, had a mini panic thinking that they'd put in the wrong towel rack in my ensuite, but nope, all good We checked the hot water system and turned it on (that took a while!!), we checked the metre box and he explained all the switches to me, we checked for the retic line that is under the driveway paving, and he also showed me how the paving is actually installed (basically like its cemented in!! So it won't be moving any time soon) Very impressed We had a little trouble finding the retic line (he needed a shovel LOL it was quite funny actually, i was concerned as i was saying how the landscapers needed to know where the line was, and he was saying "its ok Jodie, the landscapers will have shovels" hehehe ) We just went through absolutely everything!! Am so so very very pleased!! So, we came to the grand total of 14 items that need fixing!! They now have five (working) days to get those items done. In the meantime, i should receive my final account so that I can organise the bank to do their inspection or whatever it is that the bank does and get the final cheque paid so that HOPEFULLY FINGERS CROSSED, we can have the keys mid next week!!! My SS thinks that everything will be completed by Friday, as his maintenance guy is going in then, and the garage door and flyscreens are apparently booked to go in as well then (apparently there's been some delay with the garage door). SO!! Will have one more final inspection next week and hopefully that'll be that!!! AM SO SO HAPPY AND EXCITED!!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Jodes House - Aussie Living (WA) DONE!!! 2433Mar 03, 2010 2:15 pm Very very very very SUPER AWESOME COOL! So glad everything went OK, sounds like there was nothing major amiss I love how you were ready to have a mini-panic attack when your SS was 2 min late - excited much ? Thanks so much for the indepth write up - now I'll be more prepared for our PCI and what to expect. Looks like it's time for the P-word... PAR-TAY!!
