Getting finished and in there is certainly the most exciting time!!! Re: Built a Perfect House with Gemmill Homes - Handover 19/10!! 243Oct 06, 2009 6:56 pm Thanks everyone!! Thanks Pebble!!! I am new to this forum we are also building with Gemmill Homes in Tuart Ridge Estate Baldivis. It has been great to look at all your pictures to see your beautiful house coming along. It has made me even more confident and excited that Gemmill will build us a lovely, great quality home that will last us for many years to come. I love the colours you chose and the layout of your house is very practical. We are building a modified version of the Greenhaven (Designer Spec), we have added an office, made the activity room into more of a games room, extended the alfresco and added a fifth bedroom. We have four kids so need a big house as we are planning on staying there till our kids grow up and move out of home. We have done prestart and have had some problems with the final plans so they are being corrected atm so we can sign off on them. Finance is all ready so once the plans are signed we are just playing the waiting game (again!) for the slab to go down. We have had to wait quite a long time to get to this point but it has been exciting and all the hiccups have been sorted along the way so we are relatively happy so far. Our sales rep left right before contract signing which set things back a bit, but the CLO looking after us is fantastic, always gets back to us quickly and is really professional, she is by far the best person we have dealt with in the process so far. The interior designer meeting was my favourite thing so far. I hope you put up some pics with the house painted and flooring inside I would love to see what you decide on. This stuff is so interesting!!! Congrats on the new home and on surviving 4 kids! I'd love to see the final plan too! Check the Gemmill website customer login to see if they have a cop of your plan in teh documents section to put up? Just make sure to black out personal details unless you want us the stalk your house!!! (which isn't such a bad thing!) We had the same CLO - you will love her. Always in a happy polite mood and fast to respond. Might be best to edit her name out of your post in case she doesn't want to be on the internet though. I hope you get the same SS too. Ours was great and you could tell he was happy with the house personally and professionally and wanted us to be happy with it too. He worked very hard for us! We received our final invoice today and to my happy suprise there is a CREDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy, it is only $550.... but it is $550 we will need for lawn or clothes line etc!!! Off to pay that tomorrow and then wait *impatiently* for our second inspection! *Built with Gemmill Homes in WA* Slab - 1st June 2009 Plate Height - 17th June 2009 Lock Up - 18th August 2009 PCI - 5th October 2009 Hand Over - 15th Oct 2009 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20844 Re: Built a Perfect House with Gemmill Homes - Handover 19/10!! 249Oct 07, 2009 11:45 pm At least a new BBQ is something you won't need to worry about!! Re: Built a Perfect House with Gemmill Homes - Handover 19/10!! 250Oct 07, 2009 11:57 pm Yes - I think it would be.. if a building company or any company did that all the time and stuck the logo on the hood or soemthing it would be a conversational piece for years! We sent back the final plans this morning and they are all correct now which is great. Bank is all ready to go just waiting for the request from the builder for the first payment. So keep your eyes on your block!! From start to finish house has been 18 weeks to PCI and then 20 weeks to handover - and that was building through rain, wind and hail! If you go to the Gemmill website and find the client login area you will be able to put in your client number (This will be on your documents and plans) as your login and your lot number as your password. Great news! Its good to hear that you are happy with everything and your builder is fixing up the mistakes that they have made. I am so jealous of your build! It seems to have gone so quickly, ours hasn't even started yet and we've already had to wait 6 months after signing! We were told up to four weeks from now for scheduling and then a further 7 to 10 days for earthworks to commence!!! We would be so wrapt if they started quickly and then finished the house in that space of time. We are renting at the moment because we had to sell our house before we could start building. We have only signed up till mid May and are really hoping to have some time to put on the finishing touches before we have to move out of here. We have built before and had no money to do the yard when we moved in and the black dirt stained our blinds so we thought this time it would be good to do it all first.
