Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Plaster & Bricks 02/04-Pics 171Apr 03, 2010 8:37 am Wow that's come along very quickly. It looks good and I like the way you have opened up the area from the corridor. Well done you Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Plaster & Bricks 02/04-Pics 172Apr 03, 2010 9:54 am Looks so beautiful and open .... I love a place that has lots of natural light. Your brickwork looks great ... isn't if funny how much you can love bricks ... before my build I never thought twice about them Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Bricks, Cornices & Doors 08/04- 173Apr 08, 2010 9:08 pm Ok, so lots of little things happening. Firstly today is exactly one month since our slab was poured and I can't believe how much they've done!! Very happy with the progress so far
Plaster and cornices finished, bricks finished, interior doors hung, interior woodwork started and waterproofing finished. So I believe technically we'll be at lock-up now?? However I'm not sure and I was wondering if any other Coral Buildees can tell me if their garage internal door gets a lock on it?? As that would technically mean the house is 'locked up'. Any ideas? Love it. Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Bricks, Cornices & Doors 08/04- 175Apr 08, 2010 9:43 pm Looking good Your build and mine are pretty much at the same pace ... do you have any idea yet as to when you'll be finished? Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Bricks, Cornices & Doors 08/04- 176Apr 09, 2010 10:04 pm Oh Renee its looking awesome! Terriic idea opening that wall by making it a half wall - the already big area looks even bigger now! As for those bricks - well what can I say - I love them too - especially with the off white mortar. Looking good & seems to be moving really quickly too. As for a lock on the internal garage door, I am pretty sure that was an extra you needed to request. I think I remember the SC looking at us like we had 3 heads when we spoke about putting a lock on that door. In the end we put a cavity slider there so it wasnt raised again for us. Cheers Kim Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Bricks, Cornices & Doors 08/04- 177Apr 12, 2010 12:07 pm Oh WOW Renee how exciting It's been ages since i've been online so it was very exciting to see how far your build has come along. Are you enjoying the process so far ?? Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Bricks, Cornices & Doors 08/04- 178Apr 12, 2010 5:06 pm Nope the garage door is not lockable. Well, not unless you pay them extra. We didn't realise this until it was too late. Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Kitchen arrived & Garage 12/04- 179Apr 12, 2010 8:37 pm -Rebekah- Oh WOW Renee how exciting It's been ages since i've been online so it was very exciting to see how far your build has come along. Are you enjoying the process so far ?? Thanks Beck, we are enjoying the process so far. And we're very happy with the speed of the build so far too OMG Oh Renee its looking awesome! As for those bricks - well what can I say - I love them too - especially with the off white mortar. Thanks Kim, I love the bricks too and I'm glad you like them (you're having the same ones right?... with off white mortar too?) Ok, today when we went by the house we were shocked to see the garage door on!!!! I really like it! So, this means we are at lock-up. We were under the impression that the garage door doesn't go on for a while and that's why we queried the lock on the internal garage door. Problem solved, now we get to use our special key Then when we went inside we saw the kitchen and vanities have arrived!! Very happy and excited about this. So hopefully this will be installed in the next few days. We had a call from our tiler to organise a meeting onsite on Thursday to go over everything Also very exciting! The internal woodwork is still in progress but almost finished. The skirtings are alomost finished and the robes, pantry and linen still need shelves. So it's full steam ahead!!! I can't believe how fast everything is going. Coral have been so quick with everything so far So pics below, enjoy!! Its great to see yours coming together & gives us an idea of what our will be - with different windows, roof etc though. Keep the pics coming - it is looking terrific! Cheers Kim Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8501 |
