Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Provincial Homes 409Mar 05, 2016 12:33 pm niknandy kavehman, it is good to see there if finally some movement on the maintenance list. We a trying to get as many things resolved before we move in and have a small list going with the SS already. So far he has been very good at addressing them and the roof and window maintenance at the end should help with this as well. I can't remember hearing - how did you go with the flyscreens for the Bradnum windows, where you able to source them in the end? If so were they from Bradnums or a 3rd party? Finally I picked up fly screens today. I tried Bradnam's but they weren't too interested in supplying any flyscreens. I tried a few others and was quoted anywhere from 60 - 100 per window for a fly screen. I would reccomend pushing to get flyscreens at colors though, I wish we had persisted with getting a quote. We were told they are easier and cheaper to get later. I found a guy who did them for $25 per window doesn't matter what size. They are just basic fiberglass screens with surfmist surrounds. They do match the windows very well and I am quite happy with them. If I wanted him to come out and measure and install it was a 3 month wait. I measured and installed myself, although having shutter on windows makes them hard to get in and out, thankfully they are a bit flexible so you can pry them in. The last things I'm waiting on Provincial to fix up is the front door (door protector thing at the bottom, I have been told they get a few screws with each pack, so waiting for them to supply some). 2nd item is the brick clean, I'll give them a call this coming week to see what the final answer is on if they will do anything or not. Oh and my persistent water leak is back !! I'll update the blog with my experiences when everything is sorted. Re: Provincial Homes 410Mar 05, 2016 12:45 pm $25 each window is excellent, would you be able to let me know their contact details, we are having Bradnam's windows too but have not received the quote for fly-screens from them yet. Thanks - Sarah Re: Provincial Homes 411Mar 07, 2016 8:44 am sarahcraigy $25 each window is excellent, would you be able to let me know their contact details, we are having Bradnam's windows too but have not received the quote for fly-screens from them yet. Thanks - Sarah Yep I'd be keen to grab those contact details also please Re: Provincial Homes 414Apr 14, 2016 12:33 pm All a bit quiet on this thread. Update on mine is we submitted DA to Hills council yesterday. The key challenge so far for us had been the requirement for ~40,000L stormwater detention. Provincial had been pretty good so far, fairly responsive when I follow up. Hoping this continues as we go along. Re: Provincial Homes 415Apr 14, 2016 1:43 pm I have a frame today, it's the most exciting thing ever !!! Re: Provincial Homes 416Apr 16, 2016 10:58 am Thanks Nav..I'm building in Oran Park with Boulevarde Facade...A few internal plan changes... How about you...?? Appreciate if anyone can share their experience of Electricals with Provincial...and any suggestions.. Thanks in Advance.. Re: Provincial Homes 417Apr 16, 2016 11:15 am Our SS left yesterday so we have a new one now, not met him yet. Our electrical appointment was very smooth hubby is a sparkie so knew what we needed and what he could do after, planning for data points and foxtel points for me was the hardest at that stage as I didn't and still don't know the arrangement of the furniture in some of the rooms to decide on best place for everything. Re: Provincial Homes 418Apr 18, 2016 8:09 am Hi Everyone, We are waiting for final tender after contract. It's been smooth so far, hope it continues! I was wondering if you know any good tradesman for flooring. Appreciate if anyone had good experience and would like share their contact details. We are not doing flooring with Provincial so looking for external contractor to do it. Re: Provincial Homes 419Apr 18, 2016 8:33 am We have been getting quotes in the past few weeks, got quotes from Harvey Norman and I like their flooring and it's exclusive to them, and also Choices Flooring. There is a home show in Sydney next month, we went last year and there are a lot of flooring companies that attend that had some great show deals, if you are close by. The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1619 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74717 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
