Still enjoying our house very very much. Brittany is right the "new house" feeling hasn't worn off... Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 343Feb 22, 2010 6:32 pm Oh, wow, your holiday sounds fantastic!!! Welcome back to Aust. I've always wanted to go to Malaysia. I bet you were glad to return home to your palace after your adventure?! Whenever I go to Asia I marvel at how little one needs to survive and really pinch myself as to how lucky we are to live in Aust with our new big houses. Glad that the house still has that "new" feeling about it! Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 344Feb 24, 2010 8:44 am Thanks Rowena, Its good to be back...and for 5 weeks the house was hardly even dusty which was a double bonus. Can't say the same for our backyard, it looked like a meadow with all those yellow flowering weeds...hehe I told DH to leave it as it is cause it actually looks better than plain old dirt. The frontyard help up thanks to the weedmats that Dh laid before planting the yuccas and laying the mulch...just a handfull popped up while we were gone which Dh pulled up by its roots under a minute. I need to catch up on everyone's posts as I have missed sooo much! Off to your thread now rowena! Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 345Apr 27, 2011 6:33 pm Hi every1 , what can i say .......... we have been in the house for 18 months love the house but we have sooooooo many problems, we r going to go legal on the builder. We have so many deffects that's not funny !!!!!!!!! sick of ringing the foreman & head office and still no better of than when we got the keys!!!!!! advise to anyone that is building ... get an independent buiding report prior to settlement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 347May 04, 2011 9:53 pm Hi Rosa, So sorry to hear you're having severe defects. What are they. What does NBG say when you call them? Hey Fi, how are you doing? we're finally working on our backyard i.e. planted some grass, trees, vege patch etc....how are you enjoying your balcony? Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 348May 07, 2011 11:56 am Balcony is good but a bit of a white elephant!!! Expensive one too! Bit like the spa which hasn't been used since the first week we moved in. Everything else is great. I've finished the backyard and have great intentions of a veggie patch although not got past the herbs so far. We've acquired a rabbit and a guinea pig so I need to grow cucumbers as they're costing me a fortune. I do bookkeeping and one of my new clients is a builder who does National Builders Homes and he's just finishing a Buckingham. I see what he gets to pay and wow - we got ripped off on the extras but he certainly made no money on building the house. Fi has moved in!! Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 349May 07, 2011 2:57 pm I know what you mean about the white elephant Fi, we too havent used the spa since we first moved in and we used it even then just to make sure everything was working well...haven't stepped in since...the children use their bath when they need to wash their feet and thats about it...hehe....we just started a vegie patch ourselves...still have a ways to go though...only have lemon grass, chilli, kaffir lime, tumeric, galangal and a few other plants in....we have a couple of dwarf rabbits...and they eat loads for dwarfs!...lol....we planted the grass and they keep trying to get at it but it isnt yet established so they've been cordoned off to only run around the rock garden....poor bubs! I have a friend building with NBG at the moment in Point Cook & he has had so many extras thrown it with not much of a price increase....hmm looks like prices arent increasing as it was back when we were building eh.. take care Fi & keep intouch! Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 350May 19, 2011 10:51 pm Hi All, Just a general update on my Buckingham. The contract period is up and I still have only half a frame. I have decided my only option is to commence legal action against my builder and NBG. If anyone is in a similar situation please send me a primate message. I know I am not alone in this situation and feel we should take collective action. Thanks. Re: Re: NBG Buckingham - Frontyard (**Picture Fest**) 351May 20, 2011 10:11 am Tool, I am so sorry to hear about your experience...where about are you building? Our builder took his time from Nov-June (slab & frame only) and then went on high gear July-Oct. He did miss the contract deadline though and had to pay us about 2 months worth of penalties... 3 6585 |
