So setting it up for 6am is in breach of water restrictions. Also, when they lay the gardens, no weed mat is used which means we will spend a lot of time pulling weeds and grass out. They also use minimal amounts of organic soil and do not till the soil before hand. To give you plants the best chance of surviving, apply Seasol and Powerfeed weekly for a month, then fortnightly for a further 2 months then monthly after that. Mixed with water, it will provide nutients and reduce transplant shock. Powerfeed is also a great clay breaker, more effective than Gypsum. Check out the Turfing thread here. It is a long read but well worth it. Make a cuppa and sit down. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=21938 Perfect, would hate to be in breach of water restrictions! Especially when we have had so much natural watering from the skies. Will this effect our train station and over pass ? can they pull out of this is they choose to or is it to late ? have the liberals committed to the project ? This comes from an interview with cedarwoods in comment to the expansion of werribee plaza (they want to put in a full range myer) by the PDP. Gives a bit of insite into where we standard with the direction cedar woods wishes to take with williams landing town centre. 4.2.3 Williams Landing The PDP interviewed Cedar Woods Properties Limited, owners of Williams Landing. Williams Landing is a masterplan redevelopment of the former Laverton Air Base. In total it’s a 275ha site which will comprise over 2000 dwellings and a 50ha town centre. Cedar Woods has no objection to the first stage of the Plaza’s expansion, however have the view that the second stage is speculative and opportunistic and should be not be approved at this point in time. Cedar Wood’s underlying concern is that Williams Landing is not being recognised as the Major Activity Centre it is. This frustration appears a resistance by the Council to PDP REPORT WERRIBEE PLAZA, WYNDHAM COUNCIL - 13 - PDP REPORT WERRIBEE PLAZA, WYNDHAM COUNCIL acknowledge the centre as a serious retail and employment node e.g. the Council’s draft Activity Centre Strategy, 2007 recognises Williams Landing as a “neighbourhood centre’ with a potential floor area of 15,000sq.m. The same report does acknowledge however ‘there could be opportunity to expand this Centre to provide a range of employment uses other than retail alone’. Cedar Woods is underway to develop the land as a transit-based, major activity centre and employment node supported by a significant master-planned residential community. These plans were subject to a PDP referral and ultimately supported by the PDP in July 2006. The land was rezoned from a CDZ to a PDZ to ensure it moved from a primarily industrial and logistics development to a true mixed use residential community and business centre. The State Government is investing over $100 million at Williams Landing to deliver a new freeway interchange, a new rail station, a regional bus interchange and a park and ride facility. This level of investment coupled with the PDZ and its Major Activity Centre designation makes it the best location to serve a regional role for the southern western corridor. Cedar Woods’s own analysis suggested that in the next twenty years the south western corridor can support two regional retail centres or just one super regional plus a number of sub-regional centres. Any further expansion of Werribee Plaza beyond the proposed first stage should be deferred until a second regional centre has had time to establish. Cedar Woods asked the PDP to endorse the potential for Williams Landing to include the second regional retail centre for the south western corridor. Cedar Woods contend that this will position Williams Land Town Centre to attract a scale and diversity of non-retail uses that a land constrained shopping centre such as Werribee Plaza cannot achieve. Over time it is Williams Landing aim to become a Principal Activity Centre or a Central Activity District. PDP’s response: The PDP acknowledge and continue to endorse Williams Landing as major activity centre with the potential for expansion. I reported it to the Police as well on Friday, They were happy to share that Rego for the car expired in october and they can not do anything as it was not reported stolen. I called the council next, They were going to send someone out on friday to check, She mentined that Council will organise it to be removed. Re: williams landing 1159Dec 01, 2010 1:29 pm Car has finally been taken away, but the fact it sat there for so long is a concern. Even more concerning is the half built house further down Palmers road that appears to have been smashed up, the nearby rubber "circle work" tread marks also on Palmers road and the damage to signposts on Palmers road and surrounding streets. While this last item may well be by trucks and other heavy equipment working in the area, the abandoned car and vandalism has me worried. Does anybody know what the role of CW is in policing this sort of activity? There is often a car with security markings parked in the sales office carpark and I see it driving around at times. There is also some CCTV cameras which I presume are also the property of CW. Can anybody shed light on the function of these security elements? My observation is at the moment they don't seem to be securing ****. Williams Landing Re: williams landing 1160Dec 02, 2010 9:11 am Surveillance/Security by CW would only/mainly be for the empty display homes. Is this issue affecting sales? No, then I doubt CW would be really interested in any issues on the estate. Vandalism is criminal so the police cover that. Not much will happen unless the crime is reported by the property owner OR if residents/witnesses report the act as it occurs. Unless it happens to a display home or CW's little office, then watch the CCTV footage fly. Also complaining to police about hoons + donuts may warrant a single drive by but remember Werribee and Hoppers has the second highest hoon rates and car repossessions in Victoria. This will die down as more people build. Signs are covered by council. If you suspect trucks could have caused it there's a good chance council does too and wont replace until the trucks go OR if CW complain to them directly. Don't be too worried as all new estates have these little issues which dissolve when critical mass has been reached.
