Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Encase sewer pre KDR and fencing near manhole 23Sep 16, 2021 5:00 pm Hi stewie D, thanks for providing these valuable information, I am ready for KDR now and my builder add $10k for sewer encasement, after reading your posts around the cost $1500 per lm, it scares me, I have attached my plan, it looks like that I'll need 11m for driveway and 20m for the house, total of 30m X$1500, am I looking at $46,500? The house, yes and only the part of the drive that is within 2m of your house so I don't think it will be as expensive as you think. Ours ended up costing $10,000 for about 4m. That included digging down 1.2 m with an excavator and ripping out the old earthenware pipes, laying a new 150mm PVC pipe, concrete encasing it all round then filling the soil back into the trench. Then we needed to cut in a new point of discharge ( where our house sewer line meets the main sewer ) further down next to our Western boundary. This was to give us more fall from our basement ensuite. That cost us $3,000 but was included in the original $10,000 quote. Other quotes we got were around $7,000 for the first part only so they are comparable. Stewie Thanks, I think it's not much I can do until the builder completes their drawing and engage their contractor then I will know how much it costs me. flood report and sewer encasement are something uncertain, it makes me nervous. Kevin You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense.
