Browse Forums Building A New House Re: fridge space 13Aug 26, 2013 6:11 pm Travis what is your fridge?? We're looking to make our fridge space big enough for the largest side by sides and French doors on the market as we'll only be upgrading the fridge in a couple of years time and don't know the exact model. The biggest width I've found is 1m! Re: fridge space 14Aug 26, 2013 8:04 pm The widest I found was a Westinghouse which is 1m wide. You need 5mm each side so the space needs to be 101cm to fit it! I was not happy as our space ended up 1cm too narrow! Re: fridge space 15Aug 27, 2013 1:46 am Remember to consider fridge depth as well. Alot of the fridges require 90cm+ depth. We've opted to leave all our fridge and microwave spaces as standard. And our fridge depth is 60cm on the plan. Im having troubles finding a 90cm wide x 60cm deep fridge now -.- Re: fridge space 17Aug 27, 2013 9:33 am We had our fridge "plumbed" in. It was quite large but a minor change was very cheap - especially the plumbing bit. We also had the tap and power point placed in a little alcove behind the fridge - ie about the size of 2 or 3 bricks - but inside the wall. - if that makes sense. We could then push the fridge right in - and allow for door opening at the front. I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 8897 You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want.
