Very very happy....don't hear from him much but I don't care his on top of everything....not a day has gone buy where something hasn't happened...some small like a delivery then next day wam gyprocing is done....couple little problems...bang fixed... Hi Lipgloss, From what you said in this post and your next one I am feeling positive about him now. I was getting a bit worried (ulcer time) as everything that could go wrong has throughout the pre-construction stage. On another note, went past our place yesterday and the sediment control guy was there and I happened to mention that the part they cleared for the house looks like it is too close to the boundary on one side - he made me go on site and look at the surveyors peg and it said 2m (we are meant to have 2.48 on the left side for 21m if the length and then 2m for the last 10m) - so of course panic stations again from me due to him saying that if we get an idiot for formwork they will only do 2m. Rang M and have been reassured that this will not be the case and they will double check everything - hubby ready with his tape measure just in case. Hmm yes, that's what we thought as well. It seems they don't trust their own tradies, so they get us to do it. I've asked other members that are past our point, and it has been confirmed from several sources here. It's all a bit strange - what if they damage the paint, floor, or something else? Who is liable? How do you prove it wasn't the owner? Quick ? We paid for skirtings etc to be tacked on I assumed we would have to put them back on our selves afterwards but u mentioned they would come back n do that?.. Surely you don't have to contact every sub-contractor of M You sure do. Last time I met the SS he said he was preparing a list with contacts of all the vendors I have to contact, starting with Sentinel and then the flooring. Needless to say I was shocked. I knew about the kitchen appliances and the flooring (at least the wood floors anyway). Will keep you posted. Would love to hear from the 'oldies' here, that have done this already. I suspect the process is a little different for those tiling downstairs, but not overly much. We did not have to organise anything, our electricity was connected straight after our slab was poured,as the workers needed to use it throughout the build.Sentinel finished their work prior to handover,we also had our aircon motor delivered and hooked up too, only kitchen appliances, hot water panel and carpet were done after handover but our ss organised that when we got our keys(was all done within days).Cant understand why you are expected to do it. I don't get it either... I wanted them to get the electricity connected, but they said it was an OH&S risk and not done until workers are finished. Weird. But they arranged a sign-up with Origin (which I'd never do) - that will be cancelled forthwith, as I have found them to be less than ideal. It's all a bit strange. But I guess we'll know soon enough, as PCI is tentatively down for early next week! The villina has bigger bedrooms and 1st floor lounge than Santorini (24 square meters more). The stairs of the santorini is the highlight of the whole house. But the disadventage is occupancy too much rooms, so the upstairs useful area get smaller. That's the main reason why we choiced the Villina. There is hand rails of the Villina stairs. Fab SS has not mentioned we will need to do anything ourselves post handover.... Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2019Mar 21, 2013 6:19 am pacificisis ::smile:: We now have PCI (to be confirmed) all going well next Tuesday, 26th March. We might even see keys before the Easter long weekend. What a mind numbing period of disappointment and anger, followed by total elation. Just can't believe that this might almost be coming to an end.......... Will keep the forum updated. Congrats!!!!!! Such fabulous news and brilliant that your SS has listened to you and is getting things sorted prior to PCI!!!! That would be a great thing for the Easter Bunny to deliver!!!! Merlot Hilton with Traditional Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2020Mar 21, 2013 6:23 am jo&waz I just got off the phone from our SS, and he told me our Sentinel install won't be done until after handover. I don't get why its different..............Our PCI, yet to be confirmed also, will be early next week, according to SS. Handover can be anytime afterwards, depending upon the level of fixes necessary. But he re-confirmed that the hardwood flooring, carpet, hot-water-system, kitchen appliances and Sentinel would be after that. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Although with your list of stuff to organise after PCI I guess it will be a few days after handover when you will be able to move in! I don't get all the differences either, except maybe that there are different regulations in different areas according to the governing bodies????
