Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 12, 2013 3:48 pm What if I just have a couple of grate drains? Im going frameless/no door etc. Am I correct in my understanding - a reflux valve is simply to stop water coming back the other way in case of a blockage right? Ive never had a shower blockage so - just working out best way to do it. Ive been quoted $1400 to go hobless. Building with 101 Residential in Falcon. Re: Do I need a reflux valve on a hobless shower? 2Mar 12, 2013 6:01 pm Essentially that's the purpose of the reflux valve yes. If the shower is upstairs then you don't need a valve. It's something to do with needing a 150mm minimum allowance (the hob normally) to prevent sewer from spreading through your house. Or something like that. I'd rather pay $1400 than have someone else's sewer run through my house.. Re: Do I need a reflux valve on a hobless shower? 3Mar 12, 2013 6:42 pm Hi there. I personally would not suggest, or consider the use of these items. One could also ask, if you fit these to the hobless showers, what about the main floor wastes in ground floor bathrooms?
