Re: How big should a garage be? 9Mar 06, 2013 11:05 am 6*6 is the minimum for a double. This will give you room for two small cars and some work bench space but you'll still have to back the cars out to do any serious work on the benches. looking back I'd prefer at least 6.5 wide and probably 7 deep. Re: How big should a garage be? 12Mar 06, 2013 10:26 pm D101 Are there any generally accepted dimensions regarding how big a garage should be (i.e. so that you can open doors to the car etc)? Refer to your local council for minimum size, e.g. Brisbane City Council refers to the Queensland Development Code (MP1.2) which has it as 5.7m wide x 6.0m deep. Real answer is as big as you can make it. If you can only fit a 6m x 6m look at having a nook or small room built off it for storage, work bench, etc. If not, possibly have a higher ceiling so a mezzanine area can be built in above a car for storage. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: How big should a garage be? 13Mar 09, 2013 11:35 am Being keen on woodwork, we went for 6 x 12 (2 double doors), as mentioned above it can never be too big. The next one would be at least 7.5m deep as by time you install any shelving on the back wall, it gets too short to park a long car with a tow bar!! If you have the space go for at least 7x7, this will leave you plenty of room around all sides! Our property has a Car shed, door had to go in order to get the cruiser in... and no, I dont have a roof rack People never worries about height Cheers, delatite13 It can never be too big Ours is 8.6m deep and 7.5m wide. It depends what size cars you wish to park in there now or in the future. We made it nice and roomy so we can fit 2 Landcruisers (with towbars and bullbars) in without hitting the doors onto either cars or the walls, plus kids bikes, etc and be able to walk around inside with the panel lift door down....great when it's pouring with rain and you need to unload the groceries. Our friends have to remove their tow hitch on their Landcruiser to even shut their roller door...didn't want that inconvenience. Re: How big should a garage be? 16Mar 19, 2013 9:23 pm If only for cars, 6 m x 6m If adding a workbench, add 0.5 m to the length If adding storage, add 0.3 m (preferably to the width) Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 15822 hey there! π so, itβs kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20855 |
