Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1681Feb 24, 2013 12:01 pm Here in our case, they had broken so many roof tiles, they ran short of finishing it off. The other day the eave panels were in, but with the rain in the last few days, the water has hit to the eave panels! Not sure if this would damage the panels. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1682Feb 24, 2013 12:05 pm abiggerhouse Jo&Waz, I think you are right about the issues with our build, like you they just seem to keep coming. Did you resolve the tile issue? Hi! No, We've written off the tiles and resolved to buy new ones. I've got photos of the batch numbers and have been assured that I can get tiles from the same batch delivered in a month or so, after M are gone. I don't want them delivered where I'm living now. We need some tiles for the rear stairs from alfresco that dropped off the plans after the many iterations, plus some spares, given that we've used the same tiles throughout the entire house in each bathroom. But if it isn't one thing it's another with M. I'm not overly sure I'd deal with them again. Also if you think that progress can be slow while building, then wait until you put your 3 month maintenance in,we are now into our 6th month since putting ours in and absolute zilch has been done,we havnt been able to use our front door as it has dropped that much we cant open it and the list goes on and on.Each time i ring m they tell me their tradies are busy and we just need to be patient, wonder how patient they would have been if it took me more than 6 months to make my final payment.Would i build with m again NO.Good luck to everyone else,I hope you all have better luck than us. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1684Feb 25, 2013 5:34 pm shireduplex We went through St George too and they were a nightmare, their approval process is terrible not having one person look after your file and everytime it moves to another stage it's like, take a number and wait to be called! We had to re-apply every 3 months so you go from having approval to not and because Masterton process is slow too we had to do it 3 times. Then every valuer, yes they wouldn't use the same one, added new conditions arrrgh so glad we're got thru that, now they dont' even inspect prior to sending a progress payment........... 3 times, ohh the stress!! do you think you will re-finance with someone else after completion? I went past last Friday and caught a tradie on site so I took the opportunity to have a sticky beak and sure enough our tiling issues were fixed and all the fitout was complete (except flooring which we'll do after handover). I rang the SS today to confirm progress and his response; " I was about to call... Sentinel and Aircon are the last to finish up. Cleaners are booked in and driveway is ready to pour on Thursday. How about we book in for Wednesday?" So stoked coz we settled the sale of our current house last Monday too. DOUBLE YAAY! Masterton Symphony MBTF @ The Ponds 2012 Mar. Commencement May. Plans Jun. I love the photo! But be careful posting photos of your keys, as they can be cut from photos, and theoretically all they'd then need is your address. Sorry, I'm just a bit paranoid of this. Picked up many problems, but we are apparently now within 1 month of completion! They installed the wrong kitchen shelves (no soft-close), missed the rain-head shower in ensuite, and installed the bathroom accessories in places we didn't want them (we requested they call us - I'm literally 5 minutes away at any time of the day). P!ssed off. But on a positive note, taps installed nearly everywhere, painting nearly complete, tiling complete, verandah railing installed, inner air conditioning ready with vents. SS says just electrician and a clean and we should be good for the official walk-through. And then 2 weeks after that, the PCI/handover. Personally, I don't get the difference or need for the walk-through. We see it every 2 weeks (officially) and daily unofficially. Can't wait till we can get in and start on the landscaping. I need to get a digger down the back doing its thing prior to the external air con unit installation - but SS tells me we control when that gets installed. Not that I trust that advice.... It's quiet today here, but not at our building site. Bath-tubs installed today, along with the garage door and a few fineries. But I have a question, particularly for those that are at PCI or beyond, in a double-storey home. Did you have a weird vent access-panel installed below the s-bend for each of your bath-tubs??? Check the photo out - one in our Great Room, and another in the laundry. I can just make out the s-bend through the vent shafts. I've never seen something so d0dgey!! But sure these days plumbers can unblock from above I will check with my SS if this is the case for us as well If so, will get it removed. I admit, it does look off Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1699Feb 26, 2013 6:53 pm Jo & Waz, Yes the stupid vents are installed below the baths. We couldn't get them to remove them and we tried pretty hard - hope you have more luck. We ended up with a laundry spout in our bathrooms cause normal spouts wouldn't reach.... hows that for planning.
