Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 17, 2012 2:33 pm Ok well this is my first post and here is the story so far. Me and my partner have had our block of land in Castlemaine VIC for 12months. In Nov we chose our plan (Charlton29) only a few changes biggest one being extending roof line on alfresco, then paid our initial $1000 deposit with DFH on Nov15th..... We have just received our contracts back yesterday Would love to hear from anyone who has built or are building with DFH. Choosing our colours in the next week or two here are some of our ideas so far. Exterior •brick-Boral Blackheath or Horizon Mocha •Colorbond roof, gutters, down pipes -Woodland Grey •Facia-Dune or Jasper •Render-Wattyl Urban grey or Chino Interior (this is were I need HELP) •Walls-Dulux Whisper White or Antique White USA •Cabinets-Wilson Art Madagascar or Black woodgrain •Benches-Caesar stone Black Rocks/ocean foam in bathroom •Tiles-Tile mart-Petra Grey (white with grey fleck That's as far as I have got Opinions would be greatly appreciated Re: Building the Charlton29 with DFH 2Mar 17, 2012 3:15 pm Have a look through my thread. We built the same house. Very happy with it. We used the Madagascar in the kitchen for a feature oven tower and back of bench. We also changed the tower to incorporate the wider oven. Love having the bigger oven. Otherwise all white cupboards. I'm not a fan of black benches. We have the back bench in black as husband wanted black and I wanted white, so we compromised. So glad I have the white on the main bench. We also put doors into the games room. Another good move. I look forward to seeing your progress. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Was so glad to see your kitchen ive been trying to find a picture with the madagascar cabinetry, i was a bit worried what it would look like, but yours looks great. Im trying to stick to a grey, black and white scheme but getting the balance right is harder than i thought. We upgraded our oven to the 900mm freestanding oven (can't wait to use it) Hadn't thought about putting doors on the game room definetly something we will look at. Thanks for the tip Re: Building the Charlton29 with DFH 4Mar 19, 2012 7:16 pm Colour appointment booked in for next Thurs can't wait!! Went to the display homes in Greenvale and Craigieburn yesterday, seen the Boral Mocha bricks in real life and have chosen to go with them, very happy with my choice and there in the standard inclusion range so my partner is VERY happy about that lol Re: Building the Charlton29 with DFH 5Mar 19, 2012 9:18 pm Good luck with your colours. It is quite a feat to get them done. It can be confusing, cause there are so many things to pick. We had a lot of things already decided before we went, but it was still hard to keep to what we originally picked. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. I really like the colour of your bricks... Slightly wish we'd gone with the mocha but at the time of the colour consult i was inlove with dark bricks, so we're using espresso (an upgrade :/ ). We're building the Hartley thru DF. We're actually building in newstead (we live in castlemaine). Our house started late jan this year after planning for more than 18 months. Look forward to watching your build! Re: Building the Charlton29 with DFH 10Feb 16, 2013 7:50 pm Looking great!
