For some reason, slabs always seem way too small. This is especially noticable if a room sticks out a bit. I remember being convinced they had got it wrong in my last house - until I got the tape measure out. Our new house will be double story so the slab will be half the size, I know I am going to have to take a tape measure with me. 3xb Re: Our Adenbrook Home : With Bricks! *updated 22 July* 8May 26, 2007 8:26 pm Adrian B Whjen your frame goes up, dont fortget to take plenty of photos, and even measure up so you know where the studs and noggins are, Helps for those little projects down the track. what r studs and noggins? and why r they important? Re: Our Adenbrook Home : With Bricks! *updated 22 July* 9May 26, 2007 8:47 pm Touchincloth,
Studs and noggins are the bits that make up your frame. The full height vertical timber are the studs and the shorter horizontal timber are the noggins. You won't be able to see them once the wall lining is on. It's handy to know where the frame bits are in case you want to mount something on the wall or run some extra wiring. Cheers, Casa Re: The slab is down! 10May 29, 2007 9:22 am aaurora It looks so tiny I recall when my wife and I visited the slab of our new house, (a two story, 4 bedroom, double garage, 2 living areas type of home), we were shocked at how small it seemed.. It gets worse but.. What until the put up the frames, and have all these supports chriscrossing the living areas holding up the frames that you need to duck and wave to walk around.. It will fell like a cuby house. Brad Re: Our Adenbrook Home : With Bricks! *updated 22 July* 11May 29, 2007 11:46 am Apparently the frame is getting started this week...yay! And the roof will be on by the 12 of June.
Once its started, it's all full steam ahead! The block is 1122m2 in size, but looking at it with the house on theres not much room left Re: Our Adenbrook Home : With Bricks! *updated 22 July* 13Jun 05, 2007 9:04 am aaurora I have added some new piccies to the first post Yes you have!!
